Version 2 of this router is unsupported for whatever reason, so the firmware fails when you try and use it. The readme.txt file states this.
3004.388.x:
* RT-AX88U
* RT-AX58U & RT-AX3000 (V1 only)
* RT-AX86U & RT-AX86S
* GT-AX11000
* RT-AX68U
* GT-AXE11000
That's odd. The /us/ link doesn't show the tabs for me either but removing it and using the global site works for me on both Edge and Firefox. Perhaps your browsers are out of date?
Try removing the /us/ from the URL - that seems to get the other tabs to show up that you're not seeing.
Or just click this link with it removed - https://rog.asus.com/networking/rog-rapture-gt-be98-pro/helpdesk_download/
Yeah, it could definitely be DNS related cause I'm seeing a lot of other people that appear to be having the same issue across several different models. It must be something within the core of the newer model's firmware. I went back to using my AX58U temporarily until there's some kind of...
I also have the same issue with the BE82U. It loses connection to the DNS server every 3-5 days and sometimes sooner. I thought it was maybe something to do with the custom DNS server settings in the WAN tab. I was using the standard Adguard DNS Servers you can assign there, but then I tried...
I'm also having the same type of issue, but with the RT-BE82U (3.0.0.6.102_39099). It's happening roughly every 3-5 days and sometimes sooner. It appears to be DNS related. It basically loses connection with the DNS server section and makes it seem like you're suddenly offline. If you're on a...
Hey thanks for the reply, Dave. I guess that makes sense. My brain didn't process it that way for some reason. I thought it would be the other way around. Limited by LTE speeds. I appreciate your help!
Hello Friends,
I have a RT-AX88U Pro (latest merlin firmware) that I setup a OpenVPN Server on and everything is working nicely besides the speed.. My ISP bandwidth is roughly 700/30mbps and my LTE speed on the client (iphone att wireless) is roughly 150/40mbps, yet when I connect to my ASUS...
Hello,
I'm sort of a newb at this kind of thing, so I may not being using the proper terminology, so bare with me please. I setup Cacti on my windows IIS server and thats all working fine, but I can't seem to get any network data from the Router (AX88U Pro). By default cacti created a bunch of...
Just a heads up, there‘s a new firmware posted on 11/8/23 - Loaded it up on my AX55 running in AP mode and all seems well so far.
Bug Fixes and Enhancements:
- Fixed IPv6 issue on Hinet MOD.
- Resolved OpenVPN server TAP mode issue.
- Fixed ipv6 network service filter not work.
- Fixed the...
3004.388.4 Running killer for me as well on a AX88U Pro
The stock firmware (3.0.0.4.386_52041) is also been working great on my AX55 in AP mode connected to the AX88U Pro
Thanks a lot for all your hard work, Merlin!
Just a little update - I convinced the old folks that running the N66U probably wasn’t a good idea to use at this point for security reasons and it’s age. Ended up getting them a RT-AX58U and it works great. I had it up and running in 5-10 minutes, although the range is kinda weak for this model...
Yeah, its plugged into a decent power strip, not a UPS of any sort though. This would make sense why mine has never suffered these issues I would guess. The power at my house NEVER goes out.. I can't even remember the last time it went out.. Maybe like 7 or 8 years ago at a minimum. Mine also...
Yeah, when I reserved it on the main router it would just change at random every time I refreshed the main routers client list even though it was manually set on the 86U and put into the reserved client list on the main router... super strange.
Ok, thanks you for that info. I didn't know that!
It actually picks up the signal from the router at full bars, actually better then the N66U does, so it doesn't seem like that is an issue. The 66U has less distance for sure as a repeater, but for their needs its fine. They're old and they sit...
