    PCs not seen in 'network'

Yea that sorted it thanks Merlin!

    PCs not seen in 'network'

OK but I am refering to the multiple PCs on the network seeing each other, not the drive on the router. Others have suggested netbios? Never the less I have turned it on.

    PCs not seen in 'network'

Sorry for my dim post here, I am not very windows savvy being a mac man. Never the less we do have pcs on the network and debian boxes, all dishing out SMB shares. Usually when I goto an explorer window and click on 'network' on the left hand side all the PCs and other shares on the network...

    AC78u and Mac wireless issue

Hi team, with a not great experience of the R8000 I sent it back and swapped with the Ac87u to replace an 86u. Whilst it is for the most part better, I do get occasional issues whereby my mac will immediately connect to the wireless but there is no internet, under the wireless view on the mac...

    R8000 port 443 'open'

Thats my concern, remote access is disabled.

    R8000 port 443 'open'

Hello, I got a R8000 this week and whilst it appears competent, my Avast says there is a vulnerability in the router that is accessible from the internet. When I went onto GRC port scan it confirms that 443 is wide open and would only be open for credit card transactions. According to the web...

    Present one wireless ssid

I have. There are still two wireless networks with the same name being presented, and my devices are preferring the N not Ac. furthermore its a bit knackaered. 1 gig upload to LAN server from 1 min to 23 mins. I really think something is buggered with this router and I don't know what it is.

    Present one wireless ssid

Sorry not sure if I am being clear. On all of my devices now Asus shows up twice once for 5 and once for 2.5 Before it only showed up once as a combined 5 and 2.5, the device picked which one it wanted. How do I get back to that postion on the router?

    Present one wireless ssid

Hello. Following some strange disaster I cannot explain I had to hard reset my AC68U which runs merlin. I have set everything back up except the wireless presents itself twice, where as before it only showed up as one, my wirless devices would then connect to either channel. How can I set it...

router latest firmware fails port scan

Hi folks RTAC68U, running latest firmware 3.0.0.4.374_4561. I noted that past few firmwares detailed security holes that were fixed so I had a go on GRC port authority and it tells me I have filed on port MFSTDS port. Is this something to concern ones self with? Back in the day I had...

    Since latest firmware cannot timemachine

I think I applied the correct firewares, but did not do a hard reset, so perhaps that was the problem. Anyhow it got over itself and I was able to get in, but sadly it does not support timemachine so I am back to the standard firmware. Something in that latest firmware is wrong, I have not...

    Since latest firmware cannot timemachine

Well, I suppose I deserve it but after applying the merlin the disk is no longer available and my credentials nor default credentials work to log into the router. sigh.

    Since latest firmware cannot timemachine

Hello all. I have one of these new fangled RT-AC86U's Its been ok, not quite the awe inspiring results I was hoping for compared to a RTN66U. Well anyway I saw the latest firmware yesterday and thought I would give that a go. Since then timemachine does not work, it says that my...

    Constant error in System log...

FWIW I am not currently running merlins firmware and I have the same logs on an AC68U, literally hundreds and hundreds of the same line.

    Ac68u to RTn66u

Well, this is always a pain in the arse, I wish Asus would make it as easy as apple. Repeater does not appear to be what I am after, thats to extend a wireless network via wireless. As I stated I have an ethernet cable to a switch where both routers a connected, which led to the other option...
