    the best part on synology nases is the software. It's a lot above qnap, about one gen.

    But with 256MB. 212 has the same 1.6GHz marvel found on 211, but with wol, hotswap, usb3 adn sd reader. 212+ has the new 2.0 marvel and the same features of 212 but an esata port. The only difference with 211+ are the soc and the usb3.

    You can't use esata to connect nas to workstation You have to chose an atom nas. You can't use esata this way No problem for any nas. I suggest you synology 1010+ or 710+, so you can add extra storage via dx510. I don't know You have to use a decent gigabit switch.

    It seems it took sometimes to go out. No entries on synology site, only on googlecache. The actual 210+ went out on april, probably the new 211+ on april 2011. It use a marvel cpu, the same as 211, but with more ram. It has a 92x92 fan. I think synology want to abandon freescale cpus. So can...
