PPC MoCA 5-Port Active Return Splitter PPC-5M-U/U?

True. So far, not really needed though. My streaming sticks have an acceptably fast connection via Wifi 5. I might pick up an OTG cable and try a gigabit USB ethernet adapter (I already have one that might work) just to see if there's any improvement at all going MoCA, but I feel like USB 2.0...

PPC MoCA 5-Port Active Return Splitter PPC-5M-U/U?

Yeah, that just occurred to me late last night hours after writing that post, lol! I was originally using MoCA for all my HTPCs (3 of them), 2 of the 3 endpoints are unreachable (they are in fully finished rooms), so I was thinking about this from the mindset that I still need MoCA. However...

PPC MoCA 5-Port Active Return Splitter PPC-5M-U/U?

Thinking about rewiring the coax that's accessible in the unfinished part of my basement. It's all RG-59 and I'm thinking to replace with RG-6. I'm currently using MoCA 2.5 with a 4-way passive MoCA splitter. I'm thinking to eliminate a daisy-chain setup consisting of 2-way splitter in a...

Thinking about switching to MoCA 2.5

It worked! Thanks! I can't imagine how you figured that out, but it's much appreciated.

Nice. I guess Angry IP Scanner doesn't work worth a darn!

Thinking about switching to MoCA 2.5

Looks like they answered your question, but without answering whether there's a way to get into the configuration UI. I guess it's not really a big deal if I can't, since they do work pretty well, though it would have been nice to see if any tweaks/changes make a difference. I did try to take...

Thinking about switching to MoCA 2.5

The Quick Start Guide is the only thing that comes with it, unfortunately. There's a sticker, but it only has the same info as the one on the bottom of the unit. I tried Angry IP Scanner and scanned 192.168.0.0 through 192.168.255.255 and nothing found. Can just any diplexer work for MoCA? I...

Thinking about switching to MoCA 2.5

That definitely sounds useful, but I can't seem to get into the device UI. I tried following these instructions: https://8bae2e9d-266c-4d58-9cda-02ca62888697.filesusr.com/ugd/a80ff5_3cb61d1553384cf7baffa6dd675ded4e.pdf I set my IP to 192.168.254.10, but nothing responds when I try to go to...

Thinking about switching to MoCA 2.5

Got my MoCA adapters today. Other stuff hasn't arrived yet, but decided to give a couple of them a try anyway. Hooked up the one in the "Southeast bedroom" which connects to my network, and the other one on the "South Wall Funny Shaped Room" in my basement. I decided to omit adding a splitter...

Thinking about switching to MoCA 2.5

None of the datasheets for any splitters list a spec for "port isolation". I looked for it, but didn't find it. One has "isolation" and the other one "isolation loss". I don't know if either or neither of those are the same or not. Is not broadcasting back through the antenna the only...

Thinking about switching to MoCA 2.5

What is the important spec I should be looking at? Insertion Loss? The MSAT-2 from 950-1820MHz is "20 dB Min". Antronix is 975-1350MHz is "Max/Min <28, Typ 23" and 1350-1675 "Max/Min <25, Typ 16". Is that hugely different? I did see those models, but as is typical for me, I tried to save a...

Thinking about switching to MoCA 2.5

D'oh! I didn't really think about the model #. Just saw MoCA on it in big print, thought it was good, lol. :( Didn't buy from Amazon so can't return them. Guess I will try them and resell if I don't get good bandwidth. Yeah, that's what I did.

Thinking about switching to MoCA 2.5

Ended up buying 4. Guess I'll take a gamble on firmware updates. Took your advice and bought real MoCA splitters, 3pcs of Holland MSAT-2. Got an ANTRONIX 4-way for the main splitter. Didn't catch 70dB preferred on the filter till now, I had bought the cheapest Amazon had which is only 40dB...

How to interpret these iperf3 results?

    Makes perfect sense, thanks!

How to interpret these iperf3 results?

Thanks, that does also get results that make sense (~250Mbps). What is the oddly-high nearly 1Gbit bandwidth in the summary when I do UDP? Is that just a calculated bandwidth if we ignore packet loss?
