Thanks thats good advice
I think I’ll do a full reset wps as you’ve said above and hopefully let the rest be.
One thing I’ve noticed is that upnp is enabled by default. Is it ok to disable that after the reset?
Ps I’ve just done a speed check just now and I’m getting 700mb, would it still be worth resetting using wps method. Not sure if this is a intermittent issue.
Ps why would I need to factory reset. The router is brand new. Opened today
Also. Is this a reset from within the firmware or do I have to press the button on the back of the router and a 30/30/30 as with ddwrt?
hi
i have just bough this router,
i ran speed test just before updating to merlin and i was getting 800-900mb speeds.
after updating to merlin - no changes made apart from updating to merlin, im getting speed of 100-200 max.
any help would be appreciated.
I have set up a pihole with vpn running - i have a few issues now
1. VPN does not autostart again
2. Killswitch no longer works (policy rules arent executed)
3. service state says SSL/TLS issue and the vpn doesnt start.
and because for some reason the kill switch doesnt block connection to the...
Ok
So I changed the router to go through the WAN NOW now the internet has gone down and my WAN ip is showing as a 192.168.x.x
Basically I have setup one vpn client with policy rules.
1. I have setup policy rules.
2. Static ip for one device to go through the WAN
3. yesterday put in a new rule...
Also does ot mean that if I use a different VPN client ie swapping between servers. I can do that if 192.168.1.1 is WAN. Otherwise it would be blocked through policy rules?
Why dont I want the WAN connection under the kill switch? In other words what would happen if the router (192.168.1.1) stayed under the VPN and I didnt specify it in the policy rules(strict) to go through the WAN?
I know maybe I'm misunderstanding something...
I thought that it was better if...
Is there any benefit in having the router (192.168.1.1) go through the WAN? Why not let it go through the VPN?
Sorry if that's a silly question..
Thank you
