PC getting 1mbs connected directly to router on 100mbs line

I've been struggling with a few different network problems - lots of small things broken, and I'm trying to fix them all. I have a WIN10 PC with an intel onboard ethernet. It is only getting ~ 1mbs when using various speed tests. The router it is connected to is getting 80mbs+. I believe the...

    Withdraw privacy permission disables features

Thanks for doing that. I did not suppose they were routing all traffic or sending copies of all data. Just getting a dump of mac addresses / visited URLs / Timestamp would be enough to make me uncomfortable.

    Withdraw privacy permission disables features

Fair enough. I'm not knowledgeable enough to have any idea if that is what they are actually doing.

    Withdraw privacy permission disables features

Thanks for clarifying that. Yes, it comes as a surprise that I cannot analyze my network traffic, or monitor my child's web traffic without sending copies of it to a foreign corporation. I don't see any reason for them to have any of it. It isn't required for the services I want to use. I...

    Withdraw privacy permission disables features

I am aware of this thread which discusses a missing withdraw button, making it difficult to withdraw from sharing data with ASUS. However, I was surprised that withdrawing from sharing data disables the features. I guess this is clearly stated by ASUS - if you want to use any of these features...

RT-AC88U - unable to access webui

Glad I found this. My http://192.168.1.1/index.asp is currently hanging. What type of "migration" is occurring that would require this much time?

    Is my RT-AC88U fried?

Is this something I need to set up? Or does it go into standby automatically. I just assumed all routers were on all the time - so I was confused by your mention about uptime. In my mind uptime is availability. It's working again. I did a factory reset. Should have done that right out the gate.

    Is my RT-AC88U fried?

Do you turn your router off?

    Is my RT-AC88U fried?

It is past warranty I'm sure - MFG date was in 2015 - so I probably got it in 2016. Guess I've had it longer than I thought - That is still $100 per year since I paid $300 for it. I saw another person post who had a really similar issue - power up, red light flashes, powers down. So I'm not too...

    Is my RT-AC88U fried?

I've been troubleshooting a printer issue - so I updated my firmware yesterday on the router. Today I drop link, and am unable to connect to router. It briefly powers up, then turns off. Not even sure where to start troubleshooting. I set up my old router, and I guess will buy a new one...

Trouble connecting Macintosh and Epson printer - rest of network is fine

Thanks - that is a good process. I did all of these steps except the last one... but I definitely didn't do them in that order. And I know sometimes that is the difference between working/not working. I have no idea why that last time it made it through all the hoops ( found printer, added...

Trouble connecting Macintosh and Epson printer - rest of network is fine

OK, that is good to know. I have no problem believing this is a printer issue! I'm learning quite a bit about my router and local network as well. I have my old ASUS RT-N56U I could try that with.

Trouble connecting Macintosh and Epson printer - rest of network is fine

Thanks. Grabbed that app, will be very helpful for troubleshooting. I have updated firmware on router and printer. I'm running High Sierra on the mac. Router and Mac are line of site. Printer is maybe 30 feet away with 2 walls between printer and router. I've never had a printing issue ( going...

Trouble connecting Macintosh and Epson printer - rest of network is fine

Ok - it does have a port I believe, and also allows Direct WiFi, which might be an option. Currently the printer is not near the router at all. Maybe I can open another can of worms and use an access point and connect the printer to THAT with ethernet! What could go wrong! The weird thing is...
