Is my RT-AC88U fried?

I've been troubleshooting a printer issue - so I updated my firmware yesterday on the router. Today I drop link, and am unable to connect to router. It briefly powers up, then turns off. Not even sure where to start troubleshooting. I set up my old router, and I guess will buy a new one tomorrow. Sort of bummed I feel this guy is only 2 years old.

Only two years it's only a baby i wouldn't give up try L&LDs nuclear reset

Sounds like a power issue. If you have another Asus router with a similar AC adapter, try swapping it.

Also check your warranty. Asus routers have 2 years warranty (some models/countries might even be three years perhaps).

I've had mine for more than 3 years and it gets plenty of uptime (8 to 12 hours a day) and it is still going strong

Sounds like a power issue. If you have another Asus router with a similar AC adapter, try swapping it.

It is past warranty I'm sure - MFG date was in 2015 - so I probably got it in 2016. Guess I've had it longer than I thought - That is still $100 per year since I paid $300 for it. I saw another person post who had a really similar issue - power up, red light flashes, powers down. So I'm not too hopefully about it being the power supply.

No never if it's not in uptime it's on standby

Is this something I need to set up? Or does it go into standby automatically. I just assumed all routers were on all the time - so I was confused by your mention about uptime. In my mind uptime is availability.

It's working again. I did a factory reset. Should have done that right out the gate.

By uptime I mean when you are actually doing something through the router like streaming video or gaming
.By standby I mean when you are not doing anything through the router and it is just sitting with all white lights on and not flickering.Great news about getting it up and running again

You are right uptime really does mean when It is simply turned on , I just used the expressions to point out the difference between standby and doing something that is putting a load on the router
