Thanks. Turned on brute force protection - didn't realize there was that option. Used better password too. Going to have to skip RSA keys as I'm not advanced enough to know how to do that but I think I'm satisfied enough with security now.

THANK YOU RMerlin for your platforms. I have no idea why asus doesn't add hard disk spin down to their routers themselves - especially with all their "aicloud" stuff they promote. I'm very thankful for all your add-ons.

It sounds like your cheap router is working fine for you so why would you buy a more expensive router? You should buy a router based on your needs. If you don't need a fancy router, don't buy it.
