    STP and lan1_stp?

I have running Merlin 378_55. I disable STP in the switch control page. This appears to set the nvram 'lan_stp=0'. I note, however, that even with STP disabled in the GUI nvram 'lan1_stp=1'. What does lan1_stp control? - Henrik

    Asuswrt-Merlin 378.55 is now available

Thank you Merlin. I am aware of this. My post was not about getting the same performance as a PC, but rather me noticing the issue with things slowing down when HW acceleration is on and the faster performance with TCP over UDP. Both of these seemed strange to me. I am not trying to match the...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 378.55 is now available

I am seeing some strange behavior using OpenVPN client and 378.55 on a AC68. I have client configured on the AC68 to connect to the OpenVPN server. Works great, except my throughput of about 27Mbps seemed a little low. When I direct connection to the OpenVPN from my PC my throughput is >...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 378.53 is now available

I have policy routing set up where only one client IP goes through the VPN tunnel. It works well. The problem I am having is with DNS. When I set the DNS to "exclusive" it works just as advertised and I have no DNS leak for the client, *but* at this point all my clients start using the DNS of...

optware & RT-AC68 issues. (missing links).

Are you using a RT-AC68U (or R) device with 3.0.0.4.374.39 firmware? iftop worked just fine for me on my previous ASUS router. If yes, I am confused why it is not working for me.

optware & RT-AC68 issues. (missing links).

I am running 3.0.0.4.374.39 on a RT-AC68. I install optware by installing "Download Master" and then disabling it. When I ssh into the router ipgk appears to work and I can install software. When I install 'iftop' (eg. "ipkg install iftop") the packages including the needed libpcap library...

Entware and sslh, port forwarding question

Merlin, I have this working now. Thanks. Please help me understand the first rule in iptables on the INPUT chain when enabling openvpn: ACCEPT all -- anywhere anywhere ACCEPT udp -- anywhere anywhere udp dpt:1194 The second...

Entware and sslh, port forwarding question

I am trying to configure sshl from entware on my RT-N66U (Merlin) (I want to multiplex SSH and OpenVPN). I have it working on my internal LAN just fine. External (WAN) it is not working. Seems like it is a port forwarding issue. So, I am trying to forward port 443 to the router and I add the...

    Juniper SRX220

Has anyone used the Juniper SRX series of gateways to their home or small business routing needs? I can find little on these units on this site and in these forums so I ask. I am looking at a SRX220 as a router for a small business. The unit might be paired with a Juniper EX2200 switch. Any...

    Restricting all outgoing traffic (QOS)

I need to limit the bandwidth off *all* outgoing traffic from all internal source IP's (or selected IP's or IP ranges) to a certain cumulative maximum. It is not clear to me how to do this or even it can be done. I can see that I restrict by service/port, but I am not sure how to restrict all...
