Circle is good stuff but this is a pretty weak offering.
Chores will not be tied to gaining screen time. You don't get paid for chores in my home that's what jobs are for.
Alexa - pfft tack on feature of little value.
Activity tracker with a reward of sedentary screen time?
LOL...
I felt like the install process was easier than my Luma system. It may seem trivial but I really enjoy having status lights as opposed to none on the Luma. My home is 3900 sq ft and I've found no dead spots. Linksys range estimates may be correct. 1 node covers the entire 1800 sq ft main floor...
Of course..I ignore just about everyone else wrt to networking reviews. :D
We'll see. Got my tracking number for my Velop 3-pack and if they turn on the Zibgee i'll give it a whirl.
I've found that consumers don't care that much about bridges. The Hue has had HomeKit support for what a year or more. Price is the only vector here for competitors. As good as Lifx is they still get stomped in sales by Philips
I think my days of pre-ordering hardware from unestablished vendors is over. Luma pre-order was make Nov '15 and I haven't heard a peep. Troubled by the performance issues. I think the smart money is on waiting as I'm intrigued by the recent offerings by Netgear and Ubn.
Pretty much. With the AEX a Mac user knows that it will work properly with other Apple devices and initiatives.
I'm actually looking forward to the iOS setup feature as option to configuration via a Mac. This way if the router is in another room an iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad will be able to...
I'm curious as to why Netgear doesn't have the same 3G support that exists in some of their other products.
It would seem to be beneficial for smaller businesses to utilize a 3G/4G WAN card. I wonder if there will be an accessory for this in the future.
I too want RAID-10.
Hard Drive space is pretty cheap and I really don't want to deal with rebuilding parity on a RAID-5 or RAID-6 system just to save some space.
I thought I saw one array system with RAID-10 support but I cannot remember the vendor.
My thoughts have changed on DroboPro
When I tried to stop comparing it's intentions with a standard RAID system and started looking at it from an "OOBE" (Out Of Box Experience) I see Drobo as offering a different value prop. It would be the one storage system that would feel comfortable...
That's correct. The common port counts for eSATA are 4/8/16
Though at the TS-809 level it makes sense to go with another chassis if you need more than the 16TB today IMO.
