I have a 86u as my main router on the second floor with a ac3100 in the basement with a hard wire connection. I need to add some additional wired devices so question. Does it make any difference to have the switch before the node or after the node?

I have the 2 3100's in ai mesh. Master is upstairs hardwired to a node downstairs. When I'm upstairs on my iPad using the 5ghz the internet just goes out, but it still shows signal and connection. On the iPad itself I can cycle the WiFi off then back on and it works again. Have the same issue...
