Asus RT-AC86u - What is the best VDSL2 Modem ?

There are additional firmware options available for the Vigor 130 available via this link ftp://ftp.draytek.com/Vigor130/Firmware/v3.8.4 Sign in as a guest. Numbers 1-4 are likely to be the most suitable as the others are for countries abroad. I would be interested to know if the BT Business Hub...

Asus RT-AC86u - What is the best VDSL2 Modem ?

I have a Draytek Vigor 130 which I use in bridge mode with an Asus RT-AC86U. The connection is very stable but I do not think the speed is quite as good as a BT Smart Hub. I suspect this is because I am on a Huawei cabinet and the Vigor 130 uses a Lantiq chipset. The Huawei HG612 is no longer...

    Looking for Broadcom VDSL Modem

My current SNR is 3db so I am probably not going to be able to make much improvement I suspect. Thanks for the suggestion though.

    Looking for Broadcom VDSL Modem

Thanks, I already have an old HG612 but they are no longer approved by BT and Huawei no longer issue up to date firmware for it.

    Looking for Broadcom VDSL Modem

I have an Asus RT-AC86U router and an Asus RT-AC68U router working in a mesh network. The RT-AC86U is fed by a Draytek Vigor 130 modem working in bridge mode. The setup is very stable and works well but the Vigor 130 speeds are not as high as if I use the ISP supplied BT Home Hub. I suspect this...

    ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.384.45713

I have a RT-AC86U and RT-AC68U working as a mesh network. Since updating to this latest firmware 5GHz devices seem to disconnect and reconnect frequently and I get the following messages in the system log. May 4 18:22:46 acsd: selected channel spec: 0xe06a (100/80) May 4 18:22:46 acsd...

    RT-AX88U 384.10 firmware issues

I use a Vigor 130 with an Asus RT-AC86U. I find the Vigor 130 pretty rock solid in terms of connection though I think the upload speeds are possibly a bit slower than a BT Homehub 6. On the other hand the BT Homehub regularly disconnected. Incidentally there are other firmwares available for the...

    WPA settings

Can anyone tell me the difference between wpa-auto-personal and wpa2-personal security levels please? Does wpa-auto use wpa2 and wpa?

[SOLVED] Help! Cannot connect AC68U to my AC86U as aimesh node

I had the same problem linking an RT-AC86U and an RT-AC68U. I suddenly realised that when I had reset them both to factory defaults I had set the same username and password for both units when restarting them. I then gave them different usernames and the problem was resolved.

    ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.384.21140

That solved the problem. Very many thanks.

    ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.384.21140

On this firmware if I set the wireless control channel to anything but channel 6 it makes the change but then defaults back to channel 6 after a few minutes. Anyone else had this problem?

AC68U Router with Huawei HG612 Modem on Infinity

I use the same modem with my Asus AC68U and BT Infinity. The only thing you need to watch is the login and password. I found I needed to use my main bt email address and password as the login. I have enable UPnP ticked but I don't have the port ranges specified. Otherwise everything is the same...

    ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.380.7378

I have a security camera that downloads to Dropbox. Dropbox only gives me 2 Gb free so if I sync the Dropbox to download to my Asus (where I have greater capacity) I can just delete the Dropbox files on a regular basis knowing that they are being stored on the Asus usb storage.
