    Can anyone recommend a small waterproof RJ45 connector for passing through a wall or soffit for mounting an ethernet jack?

    Most decent IP cameras will come with a network plastic encapsulated RG45 connector. If they dont, I would stay away from them. If you need something else, Amazon has many starting around 10$ The idea here is that the wire is pushed up into the soffit or the attic unseen and out of harms way...

    Using Old Windows Home Servers Again???

    I just bought one for my home automation purposes. They seem pretty nice except they get hot without a fan. I do remember reading that the servers I mentioned above beat the pants off of the Pi3 so using a PI3 would be a downgrade.

    Yea, the more I read up on these makes me realize they just are not capable enough to take the time to make them useful again. Shame though as they are nicely built and are pretty skimpy on electricity.

    Thanks for the tip unfortunately the offsite portion is not possible because of the fluidity of my databases. Does anyone know of a group of people that share space on the servers with strangers and in return, get offsite backup at no cost?

    My WHS died a few months ago. It was very easy to get the files off of the drives. Unfortunately I had many DVD's ripped to this server and the files from each DVD were spread all over 5 drives.
