    Broken power button

Perfect solution found!!! No need to open the router! The piece of plastic is end cover from HDMI cable taped with regular scotch tape. It is flat and thick enough that scotch tape holds it securely to keep switch in ON position and plastic doesn't move. Much better than my previous fix with...

Looking for a replacement for Asus RT-N66U

I ended up getting RT-AC66U B1. Use it with Asus firmware with wireless part disabled and everything works just fine. It does have the same power switch as one that failed in my RT-N66 (at least it looks the same outside). I flashed my RT-N66 with Asus firmware and use it as access point/switch...

Looking for a replacement for Asus RT-N66U

I've had Asus RT-N66U (Merlin Firmware) for years and have been out of the loop about latest and greatest. I could've used it for much longer but power button broke down several years ago and it is now kept in On position using scotch tape and pencil eraser, which is not a reliable solution...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 376.47 is out

Are both port forwarding and NAT loopback already broken in your .47 release? Or only in ASUS code not yet incorporated in any of your releases? Can someone clarify on significance of NAT loopback being broken (port forwarding I understand well enough)?

    Feature request

I've mentioned that on my review 1.5 years ago but Asus still hasn't fixed it, so here is hoping Merlin can do something about it. Can WPA Pre-Shared Key on Advanced Settings/Wireless/General tab be made to behave the same as it does on General/Network Map/System Status? That is key is...

Is restoring previously saved settings safe?

I've never tried it. Searched this forum and several people reported bricking their routers when doing it. I have RT-N66U

How to find free space on connected USB flash drive?

I'll answer my own question (should've tried harder before I asked :D): Enable telnet access via Administration/System/Miscellaneous in web interface. Telnet into the router and use the same credentials as to login to web interface. Run "df" command. Disable telnet access.

How to find free space on connected USB flash drive?

I have USB flash drive connected to RT-N66U. It is used only to save traffic history. I don't have any AI Cloud or USB applications active. How to find free space on connected USB flash drive? FWIW I now run Merlin's 374.40 firmware.

    RT-N66U keeps factory resetting itself

Is trying RMerlin;s firmware an option? I've been using it for over a year and just checked uptime - 120 days.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 374.41 is out

What exactly is the problem with blinking light and in which Merlin release it appears first?

Is turning wireless off with a button possible on RT-N66U?

Found it: Advanced Settings/Administration/System/Miscellaneous/WPS Button behavior

Is turning wireless off with a button possible on RT-N66U?

Where is that setting in Merlin's firmware? I can't find it.

Is turning wireless off with a button possible on RT-N66U?

Is turning wireless off with a button possible on RT-N66U? I think I did this several months ago but not 100% sure. Today I tried all buttons but they don't produce desired effect. Is there a firmware setting to turn this on?

Is 3G/4G backup supposed to be working?

Router: RT-N66U Firmware: RT-N66U_3.0.0.4_374.40_0 Last time I've tried tethering was about 5-6 months ago with whatever firmware was current at the time and I used FreedomPop Photon device (it uses ClearWire WiMax network and is NOT Android based). I no longer have Photon but it was working...
