News NETGEAR Announces Tri-Band AX RAX200 Router

Got a 160MHz link over 5GHz-2. No thanks to an obscure bug. I had to set 4800 for the Wireless Bridge side of the connection! And that setting is in a greyed out screen once in bridge mode!! So I had to take it out of bridge mode, fiddle with IP addresses on the PC to still connect to it. Then...

News NETGEAR Announces Tri-Band AX RAX200 Router

I was getting some spiky pings and read this could influence it. Clearly not then but its still a bug! Also no luck in getting a pair of these to do 160MHz at 5GHz-2 no matter what region or settings I try

News NETGEAR Announces Tri-Band AX RAX200 Router

*Sigh* This thing is buggy. In Access Point mode , if you disable WMM, you can no longer connect to the WiFi at all! SSID is broadcast but you can no longer connect to it!

News NETGEAR Announces Tri-Band AX RAX200 Router

I can only get a 160Mhz link between two of these routers on 5GHz-1. When setting 4800mbps on 5GHz-2, although the status shows correctly 100-128 being used, the second RAX200 only connects at 80Mhz even 3 feet away. This is with one set as an AP and the other as a bridge

[ROG RAPTURE GT-AX11000] Experiences & Discussion

Does the WiFi site survey and channel statistics etc work for anyone? I am on the 5252 firmware and I just get empty charts!

    ASUS RT-AC5300

I don't have this region option with the firmware you posted! Mine was a UK model. I suspect this option isn't meant to appear or only does with the US version.

    ASUS RT-AC5300

Manually, on my UK model, I cannot choose 80MHz for channel 140 in the menus and if I partner an AC68U with it as a media bridge, I cannot get a 1300 connect even with the 68U right next to it. I am convinced, whether its right or not, that on my AC5300 the only channels letting me select 80MHz...

    ASUS RT-AC5300

I have reported to Asus that the Smart Connect feature is not choosing full bandwidth channels for Europe on 5GHz-2. They have now logged it as a bug.

    ASUS RT-AC5300

I wanted to compare 753 with what I am running now, but the links provided in the other thread (Merlin's file store) appears empty to me? Can others still download 753 ?

    ASUS RT-AC5300

The headphones ruin all channels that are offered for 5GHZ-1 in the UK (36-60). Channels 100-140 are fine. So the headphones seem to hop around, covering a rather wide channel range. It is unfortunate I cannot choose 5GHz-1 as 100, and 5GHz-2 as 112

    ASUS RT-AC5300

I tried Smart Connect but had to back it out. In the UK the only 80MHz capable channels for the higher numbers are 100,104,108,112. For some reason it locks 5GHz-2 to AC only connections, but then chooses channel 140 which doesn't support the full bandwidth!! Once you go to smart connect it...

    RT-AC5300 Antenna Position

In the user guide, it looks to me like it suggests they should be at 45 degrees...there is a diagram with an arrow showing the antenna's moving outwards.....but I haven't done the needed testing to validate which is better for my set-up yet.

    ASUS RT-AC5300

I did try flicking through the channels one by one, but in my instance, it doesn't seem to make a difference. I read back to earlier pages where forum poster wsarahan experienced identical issues with his wireless headset. For whatever reason, the 5300 gets very upset with non WiFi devices on...

    ASUS RT-AC5300

That is very helpful, thank you! I put my Android tablet 1m from the router, and I got -25dB. So it doesn't seem like the radio output is weak. So could the AC5300 have a "back-off" algorithm if it detects "something" else on the same frequency? (i.e. my digital surround sound Sony cordless...
