The ONT i have now at the property is supposedly the "latest" model installed. No disconnection issues at all for the past 60+ days, so relatively stable
Yeah upon restart the router will keep on failing to reconnect. I was on the call this morning and as soon as they "refresh" the connection...
Thanks for your response
Yes i have escalated this issue to them multiple times however it seems like i'm hitting a dead end with them
What would you like to know about my ISP? Regarding equipment and cabling its very standard
ONT box from the street to the house and connecting an ethernet...
Hi guys
Has anyone ever experience routers not automatically reconnecting to your ISP after a reboot?
This happens to me all the time and i have to call my ISP to manually have the refresh my session. As soon as the session is refreshed, the connection is up and running pretty much immediately...
Hi all sorry for the late reply but just an update of my situation
I managed to purchase the AX86U during the Easter weekend (sale). Everything seems to be working fine with the stock FW (updated to latest)
Used the old AC86U as an air mesh node
Only issue so far (which hardly happens) is if...
From the back of the label i can see manufacture date November 2019
In terms of country i can see Made in China and then there are 2 Asus addresses (Germany and Taiwan)
Yeah the AX86U is very expensive. In terms of usage, nothing fancy just internet with some nice security features like...
How do you check that, the country and date of manufacture? Can you find that info from the web interface?
Assuming you're right and its a hardware fault, what replacement modem would you recommend?
Spoke too soon, about 30 mins in and it disconnected itself. Now I'm back at the connect / disconnect loop. FML
another 10 to 15 mins of fluffing around and restarting it connected
not ideal but i need to stay connected
just refreshed the page and its back to normal now, sigh
happy to report that 386.5 seems to have fixed the problem, i was a little skeptical at first because there were about 10 to 15mins of WAN connection dramas after upgrade
multiple restarts later, the router just connected and i can see all the LAN ports at 1Gbps
will monitor this, hopefully it...
nope didn't work unfortunately. got me a new pair of CAT 6 cables. showing as 1Gbps at first then after a restart went back to 100Mbps
i had to restart because it kept on going in a connect / disconnect loop
I did a little self test myself (though the results were a little botched and frustrating) please hear me out (or my rant)
I decided to test buy taking my current air mesh node (AC68U), performed a hard reset and reconfigured it as primary
Upon connection, you can see that the ports are set to...
sorry for the late reply, i didnt get an email notification hence was not aware of any post made

i just ran the script again and dont see anything in the system log

Sorry for the late reply, have been quite busy with some personal stuff
I will attempt to run the script again and recheck the logs
The router is connected to an ONT device that does support 1Gbit connection
I am using CAT5E cables for all the cabling but will attempt to replace them with...
thanks again for your time
i have followed your instructions however i dont see any changes at all
when i ran the script, i dont see any changes at all on the router as every port is still at 100Mbps
am i doing something wrong?
Thank you so much for willing to help
The part where i am not cozy with would be the whole script building and execution part with cron entry. I'll go through the wiki again and hopefully all that makes sense to me
