Does every config change prompt a reboot/reconnect?

Ya... I just replaced my old AX86U with an AX88U Pro. The AX86U just died one day... as in, it was working and then the next hour it was dead no power no response nothing. So I picked up an AX88U Pro. The AX86U had the Merlin software on it and I felt that I was in there making changes all...

Does every config change prompt a reboot/reconnect?

I used the DHCP change as an example, but it feels like anytime I touch a setting in this new router it has to do almost a full restart. Maybe it's just my perception but I feel like when I had my AX86U, it didn't have to drop/restart all the time. I look at the AX88U and I feel a browser...

Does every config change prompt a reboot/reconnect?

So this is because of the stock Asuswrt software then... the Merlin software doesn't suffer from this annoyance?

Does every config change prompt a reboot/reconnect?

Is this typical behavior? I can't remember this happening before with any of my other ASUS routers. I feel like everytime I change any setting in my ASUS router it drops all the connections and almost essentially reboots. With my previous router, I want to say that I was able to do config...

    AX86U dead (no power)

Can add mine to the list... just stopped working this morning. One moment it was there and the next moment... dead. Luckily I had an AX68U as an AiMesh node that I could repurpose as the main router until I can buy a new router.

    AiProtection and Onedrive crashing router?

Yup... I figured that part out (and eventually turned that off). The part that was "odd" was that it was crashing the router when it was on. Blocking OneDrive accidentally is one thing, but bringing down the router is what I was curious about. Once I figured out what was happening, I had 5...

    AiProtection and Onedrive crashing router?

I guess that would help... AX-86U running Merlin 386.7_2

    AiProtection and Onedrive crashing router?

Has anybody seen any problem like this where if I turn on parental controls to prevent file sharing it causes AiProtection to go wild and eventually crash the router? It seem like Onedrive and parent file controls don't get along. It seems like to cause the router to reboot every 4-5 minutes.

ctrl channel 1 SB not aligned with existing 40BSS

I'll admit... I've lived a happy life with my router set to auto channel selection with the 20/40/80 options filling up the airwaves. Everything has been fine. Well, I checked in my log files the other day and it was filling up with log spam about channels moving around because of congestion...

    Blank page when logging in

Add my name to the list... Did a service restart_httpd and then I could at least login, but after login I get the same blank white page.

TP Link Range Extenders Smart Enough to Avoid Loop?

I thought I would circle back to drop my feedback. I've been experimenting with these access points probably too much... But I think I finally figure out my problem. To avoid signal overlap and loop... I basically had to use the control panel to block the other device from connecting. It solved...

TP Link Range Extenders Smart Enough to Avoid Loop?

It sounded like a good idea... but I think these extenders are going back in the box as I get higher speeds without them. I didn't want to splurge on those expensive access points, but maybe I have to.

TP Link Range Extenders Smart Enough to Avoid Loop?

Throughput was horrible... 8-10mbps vs 36mbps. I'd be better off without the extenders...
