I don't want to use that program because you have to pay for it. Test my net and Comcast speed test website give me almost identical results most of the time. I will give the large file transfer speeds a test tomorrow and see what kind of results I get.
In the post I stated that I am getting the correct speeds over wired ethernet so this would mean there is not an issue with my cable modem. It is the Motorola SB6141. Hard wired on my desktop I get 120/25 fairly consistently when running speedtests from http://testmy.net/
Here are some more details but the issue gets even weirder.
So I tried uninstalling my AV software and it didn't change anything but I logged on with my laptop over a wireless connection and it was acting completely normal. I then unplugged the etnernet cable from my desktop and connected it...
The extreme 105 is supposed to be 105 down 20 up. On a wired connection I consistently get 120 down and 25 up. I actually got the service for the upload speed because I do a lot of steaming and uploading to youtube and it's the fastest available in my area for upload speeds.
I definitely get a...
Interesting. I will give that a shot. My Antivirus currently is Avast. MCSE does not pass the latest detection tests from AV comparatives, so I definitely will not be using it any time soon. I did use it in the past though.
I have done a few speed tests lately after upgrading my internet connection to the Comcast extreme 105 on my wireless and I have found that I am not getting my full download speed over wireless on my RT-N65R. I have 2 wireless devices, a Laptop and a Desktop and neither of them can get my full...
Anyone have any ideas? I may end up RMA'ing it if this doesn't get any better. I just got a new laptop and it keeps giving me packet loss issues. I haven't had a device on wireless lately. I am starting to wonder if there is something else going wrong with it other than just the config page issue.
I didn't change the desktop any when I moved it out. I just transferred my stuff off of it onto my new computer. There is nothing different OS wise or anything from when it was in my computer room.
A loop back would just be a looped cable plugged in to 2 ports on the switch correct? I know that's definitely not the issue.
I know the HTPC will get the same speeds as my desktop connected directly to the router because it was my desktop for a long time. It was getting the same speeds as...
Is the Edgerouter Lite configurable from the GUI now for a basic configuration? I am thinking about getting one of them to replace my current wireless router due to performance issues.
All I would be doing with it would be setting up one port for the incoming connection from my cable modem...
Ok so really my question is are all switches created equal?
I have a TP-LINK TL-SG1008D Gigabit switch in my living room. It has a 50ft cat 6 cable running to it from my Asus RT-N65R router in my computer room. When I have my Roku 3 connected to the switch I seem to get longer loading times...
Hi,
I have an Asus router and I am having issues with the configuration page. You can log in to it and get to the main page but when you try to click on any links off to the left side the page will usually endlessly try to load your selection. Sometimes the pages will load but most of the...
Trying to find a 5ghz adapter with the longest range.
My neighbor agreed to let me use his wireless and my adapter is not pulling in the signal from the router. The router is one of the highest end Netgears available, and it is as close to my house as it can be.
The Adapter I have now...
