    Release ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386_51668 (2023/11/30 )

Agreed. I've been with Rise for almost a year and it's been sufficient for what I need out here. Spectrum fiber is coming in the near future but until then, I'll suffer.....I'm pretty religious about keeping firmware current. As a IT Pro off 33+ years, I've been around the block many, many time...

    Release ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386_51668 (2023/11/30 )

I live in the rural country with only Rise Broadband available @ 25Mb. But the only local (and VERY over-provisioned) tower nearby means that at peaks times I see, maybe 5-8Mb. Off-peak I usually see around 8-13Mb. I must be the only one who saw a nearly 50% reduction in my internet speeds after...

    Release New AC86U firmware 3.0.0.4.386_42643

Cool. Usually AC68U is not too far behind AC86U. Surprised that in 3 months since last emergency beta release there weren't tons more things addressed.

    RT-AC68U 18th January 2021 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.41634

No release notes yet but probably the same or nearly the same fixes as the RT-AC86U. Found it on the official ASUS support site.

Solved :3.0.0.4.385.20852. Don't do it. The high CPU utilization problem is back.

So I tested this FW again and let the router sit for almost 15 minutes and after that amount of time, whatever was causing the CPU spike seems to settle down after that amount of time. To be sure, I rebooted and hard powered off for a minute and upon reboot, CPU use is normal. In the years I've...

Solved :3.0.0.4.385.20852. Don't do it. The high CPU utilization problem is back.

I'm going to amend my statement about this FW. I gave it another shot and just let the router sit there for almost 15 minutes and after THAT amount of time, it finally settled down and CPU use is back to normal. So at the outset, it seems to be doing....something to spike the CPUs and RAM for...

Solved :3.0.0.4.385.20852. Don't do it. The high CPU utilization problem is back.

Indeed. I found it very odd that Asus pushed this to the web before the firmware checker. Not to mention they didn't publish release notes. That's way out of character for them IMHO.

Solved :3.0.0.4.385.20852. Don't do it. The high CPU utilization problem is back.

I just upped my RT-AC68U to 3.0.0.4.385.20852 and noticed that the CPU spiking issue from last year seems to be back with this firmware. At least for me. Rolled back to 3.0.0.4.385.20633 and things are back to normal. Just a heads up if you're tempted. YMMV.

    3.0.0.4.385.20632?

Just popped up for my RT-AC68U. Anyone else know what's been updated? With such a tiny point release, I imagine not much. Still, no info anywhere on this release.

    ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.385.20253

Looks like 3.0.0.4.385.20490 is being offered via router firmware update UI. Release notes won't load but will update when they do display. [UPDATE] Release notes posted here: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/rt-ac88u-new-fw-3-0-0-4-385-20490-28-04-2020.63713/

    ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.385.20253

Anyone have any idea what kernel the router is running? Does one hsve to SSH into it to find that info?

    ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.385.20253

Well, not sure which fixed it but a power cycle of the modem and router again seems to have fixed it. Gigabit speed is back in router status and Internet speed is back to normal.
