One thing I did notice, by ssh-ing into the router. I saw hundreds of processes, all with this: cp /tmp/syslog.log /tmp/syslog.log-1 /jffs I'm not suggesting that's necessarily THE problem, but it's certainly A problem.

So clearly there are some real issues with the firmware and these issues are not new ones. It's been the case for years. A very big shame because it makes the devices unreliable, which is the last thing you want in a router!

When it locks, it continues to route, but I can't even access the GUI to check things out. A power cycle is the only option I have.

Fully resetting and manually re-configuring isn't really something I want to do as there are a lot of rules, etc. In something like a router I just want to be able to leave it running and rely on it. Having to "tend to it" regularly basically makes it too unreliable for me. If you (or others)...

I've had this with all versions of the Merlinf/w, right up to the latest and with both AC66U_B1 and AC88U routers. Every few weeks, they need a hard power cycle in order to be able to log on to the web interface OR for their DHCP server to work. Looks like some services must just hang or stop...

The migration used a brand-new, clean and factory-reset AC-88U. Settings were not copied frpom the AC66U_B1 other than basic manual ones. No - it's not that complicated! It's simply a time-schedule rule. As soon as I remove time-schedules for the device, it flies again instead of crawling. That across a phone, Chromebook and Android TV - all the same. Nothing else - just time-scheduling.

On my RT-AC88U router, I put in a few time-scheduling rules for some devices. I then noticed that those devices had terrible network performance. I took the rules off for one device and it because super quick again. The problem remained for the others, so I removed all rules and they all run...
