Well it works but the way Entware compiled openvpn is quite different from merlin's fw way.
In particular, all the following options are set to off in Entware:
enable_iproute2=yes
enable_management=yes
enable_plugin_auth_pam=yes
enable_plugin_down_root=yes
enable_plugins=yes
enable_server=yes...
Dear forum,
despite the router not being supported anymore by merlin's fw, I would need to update the version of my openvpn server.
I noticed that I could install openvpn 2.5.X from entware:
admin@BRTO3:/tmp/home/root# opkg list openvpn-openssl
openvpn-openssl - 2.5.4-1 - Open source VPN...
I did all of that over the past 4 years and the problem is still there (RTAC3200, RTAC56U, RTAC68U included)
I went trough innumerable nuclear resets and installed all Merlin's firmware releases.
I could never to get rid of that bug.
It's been years that I'm dealing with this issue and still could not find the root cause.
In my case,
even if one core is reported to be stuck at 100% in the GUI (sshot1),
nothing seems to be going on on the system where both cores are
basically idling (sshot2).
The only things I could find...
I did it with GLBP and it works.
The ASUS router now has a single static route to a highly available IP which "floats" (according to some rules) between the 3 cisco routers on the LAN network.
At the end the solution was pretty easy using IOS.
Thank you guys.
Connected to the LAN of my asus router (which is mainly used as a firewall) I have 3 cisco routers (RT1, RT2 and RT3) running eigrp. On the asus router I've defined a static route with default metric to RT1 and two more static routes to RT2 and RT3 with metric 10 and 20 respectively. The 3...
Same problem here.
I don't wan to block any client at all, I just want the router to forget a client like it never connected before.
In fact the router remembers all past clients (MAC, name, hostname etc)... probably in a database (just guessing)... so, how to purge a client form the router?
But, does it work if I use it with an RTAC3200 flashed with your latest firmware (or should I flash the asus firmware on the RTAC3200)?
In particular I'm referring to the seamless bridging technology for which this repeater needs to be connected with another asus router.
I have no usb disk plugged in... I never had one.
In my case I've been always using firmwares with only vpn turned on (nothing fancy, really)... but I found all of them with one core spinning several times over the last year or so.
In particular there was a specific version of the firmware...
