SDN - br ID vs vlan ID?

I think for the guest network on the main and AP routers to work together, they both have to be on the same bridge. Everything works ok using the default settings (br52, VLAN 52, and subnet 52), but I would prefer to use a different VLAN/subnet ID. It would be good to know if there is a way to...

    Release ASUS RT-AC86U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386_52294 (2025/10/28)

Looks like other updates were made as well. I guess its easier to apply all updates than selectively apply a fix for a vulnerability.

SDN - br ID vs vlan ID?

I'm messing around with VLAN options on my GT-AX6000 main/AP combo (not mesh) for an IOT network for 3006.102. When I setup a custom network on the main router or AP router, and then choose the option that creates a unique subnet, the SDN system defaults to VLAN ID 52 and uses the .52 subnet...

Release ASUS RT-AX86U Pro Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_34406 2025/10/28

That's been happening to me forever. But people seem to have a range of experiences with Network Map.

    RT-AX86U Pro abandoned?

I guess I missed that, but still, its a bit odd for the GT-AX6000 to receive an update while the AX88U Pro and AX86U Pro have not. All three are very close to the same device.

    RT-AX86U Pro abandoned?

GT-AX6000 in the same club. Perhaps not surprising because all three routers have fairly similar makeup. The AX86U Pro is a little different than the other two.

    [ 3006.102.6 alpha Build(s) ] available build(s)

Alpha1 has been running for several days without any hitches on my GT-AX6000 main/AP combo. Site-to-site VPN, one GN, some manual DHCP address assignments. All good.

    RT-AX86UPro - Should I upgrade from 3004 to 3006 now?

I took the plunge with my AX86U Pro main/AP config when 3006.102.4 came out. Based on all the info I read, I figured there was a reasonable chance there would be significant issues, but it was a complete non-issue. The only thing I had to do was to adjust the guest network configuration...

    Release ASUS GT-AX6000 Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_34860 (2025/08/27)

The readme does state that improvements were made to connection stability, presumably wifi, but not explicitly stated.. And it also mentions improvements to the infamous Client List. I'll be amazed if there are actual improvements to the accuracy of the Client List.

    Need new router

If you need an upright form-factor, then the AX86U Pro is a potential choice. Its now several years old, so the number of years until it reaches ASUS EOL status is going to be less than a BE router. It also doesn't have the best wifi range. It does have a good CPU and 2.5 gigabit ethernet...

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 3006.102.5 Beta is now available

Went from 102.5a2 to 102.5b3 this morning. No issues so far with my main/AP GT-AX6000 combo.

Shelly IoT Devices (Switches) Drop off Network with kernel 'not mesh client, can't delete it' messages

So, for my AX86U Pro main/AP combo, both of the isolated SDNs are on 2.4 GHz, and I have both SDNs setup on the main and AP routers. Each SDN is on its own subnet, and is deselected from communicating other networks. I also have the AP Isolated option selected. These two options only exist on...

Shelly IoT Devices (Switches) Drop off Network with kernel 'not mesh client, can't delete it' messages

The error message gives the impression that there is some attempt by the mesh system or the devices to switch to a node, so I wonder if the issue would occur if you turned off the nodes. That aside, I didn't realize there was a limit on the number of SDNs that could be created. At my cabin, I...

Shelly IoT Devices (Switches) Drop off Network with kernel 'not mesh client, can't delete it' messages

If your satellite routers are etherneted to your main router, have you tried running the satellite routers in AP mode rather than AI mesh mode? I'm tossing that out there because I've got two locations running satellites in AP mode, and its been 100% stable at both locations.
