    RT-AXE7800 Attached USB Drive Question

Yep....mine supports SMB 2 (or 3). I don't need to have SMB1 enabled anymore (good security issue). I also tried with SMB Direct enabled and disabled...no change. I also just tried Total Commander to see if it was a File Explorer issue. Nope. Same thing. Attempting to move or copy a file...

    RT-AXE7800 Attached USB Drive Question

I think it might be something with SMB and Windows 11. I just used FileZilla as a test and was able to move folders and files around almost instantaneously. It is more cumbesome than using File Manager though.

    RT-AXE7800 Attached USB Drive Question

I have an external HDD attached to a RT-AXE7800 router for basic networked storage. I have a question on whether I can improve file management speeds. - I understand that there are limitations when transferring files from a networked machine to that drive via wireless. I average about 20MB/s...

RT-AXE7800 Bandwidth Drop - More troubleshooting tips?

First...thank you for responding and offering advice...much appreciated. I can answer some of your questions now: - Unfortunately, I don't have a readily available wired means to the main router. Laptop doesn't have ethernet connection. Likewise, the desktop I'm using upstairs (near the mesh...

RT-AXE7800 Bandwidth Drop - More troubleshooting tips?

My apologies...thanks for the additional questions. Last case, as mentioned was to do a factory reset on both and, instead of importing settings file, I would try again to manually enter things back...a little at a time. - Firmware on both routers is 3.0.0.4.388_25144-ge0cbd4e (released a few...

RT-AXE7800 Bandwidth Drop - More troubleshooting tips?

I have (2) RT-AXE7800s in mesh (upstairs/downstairs). I have a 1Gbps ATT fiber connection and Wi-fi speeds had normally been quite good. Speed tests were in the 800 Mbps range consistently...upload and download. A few weeks ago, that changed. Depending on what speed test I use (Speedtest.net...

    ASUS Router Issue or ISP?

Thanks...I just find it weird that with VPN enabled it has great bandwidth and without it doesn't...it should be the other way around. You're right though...while I don't necessarily regret the purchase because most of the time it works(ed) great. It was on sale and one of the more affordable...

    ASUS Router Issue or ISP?

I spent a few hours troubleshooting with no luck. Issue occurred last year and I fixed by doing a factory reset and restoring from settings file. That didn't work this time. I have two Asus RT-AXE7800 in mesh with ATT 1Gb service. Normally I can pull 800Mbps over close Wifi 6 or 6e connection...

    Asus AXE7800 Mesh Issues w/ Android 15

I have two RT-AXE7800 routers connected in mesh. Most devices work fine, but my Pixel 9 Pro will not effectively roam between the two (one is upstairs and one is downstairs). I have to manually turn off Wi-fi and turn it back on to connect to closest node and get great connection strength. I...
