    WAN Aggregation Question

There is an usb-c port but as the firmware is owned by rogers and it is in bridge mode, the port does not seem to be active, or at least I cannot see how I can use. FYI, it is the technicolor XB8 model (if you wish to google). It is too bad I cannot use it as a router as it does seem pretty...

    WAN Aggregation Question

Thx for your reply. I only mentioned an ethernet splitter via a description of what is can do via a google search. My goal was to see if I could avoid buying a new router as my ax88u is capped at 1 GB. After reading all the comments in this thread, it looks like the most economical way is to...

    WAN Aggregation Question

@Tech9 or Anyone else: I have a question (may seem dumb to you- sorry): I currently have an AX88U router (using Merlin), which only has a 1 GB WAN port. Meanwhile, my 'Rogers' XB8 Modem (in Bridge mode) has a 2.5 GB port and 3x1 GB ports. I am on a 1.5 GB plan (why? because 500 MB in my...

Possibly in the market for a new router

Hi all, kinda of a dumb question. Brief background: I am thinking of getting a AX88U_pro (currently using AX88U) so I can get the 2.5 GB ports so I can get the 1.5 GB speed Rogers has given me. Hence, I am capped at 1 GB with AX88U. I cannot use WAN aggregation as the Rogers XB8 modem (in...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.5 is now available

Well it must had been a bad Skynet install (when I did a dirty upgrade from 388.4). I have since uninstalled Skynet, reformatted my USB and validated it was healthy. Finally, I have re-installed Skynet. GOOD NEWS is it is working well again, and has been since Friday. As for the 388.5...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.5 is now available

Firstly, semi dirty flash from 388.4 to 388.5 on Sunday has been solid. Thanks Merlin! However, today skynet acted up. It started after a daily list update where not only the list was ignored but when I then looked at the settings, a lot were changed! So wierd. I have been using skynet for a...

    What add ons to install

I am not saying that at all. My motto in life is nothing is 100%. I am sure the firewall is fine. Adding on skynet certainly does not hurt. Do I think a home with 2 adults need it, probably not. But with two 20 year olds living with us, I feel better having an extra layer.

    What add ons to install

Firstly, there is not such thing as 'set and forget', in my opinion as you should periodically check router for anything strange going on AND perhaps reboot, again, periodically. I have been using Merlin for almost 2 years now. It has been very stable and offers a lot of flexibility. I love...

    Skynet / dnsmasq / Flowcache / Merlin 388 releases

Firstly, I do not want to bash all the wonderful work that @RMerlin has done, as the issues are inherited from ASUS. After reading all the comments in this thread and the main 388.2 release thread, it seems to me that @Tech9 is right. If you run with limited scripts, as I do, it works well and...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 388.2 is now available for select models

I had upgraded to 388.2 from 388.1 via semi-dirty upgrade on my AX88U, over a week ago. It has been running well (thanks @RMerlin !) except for using SKYNET. I had been using SKYNET for the past couple of releases, but in 388.2 the wifi download speeds drop by min. 20 mbps vs 388.1. I even...

    Priority for DoT Server List?

Hi Team, I realize that this is an older thread. I use quad9 and cloudflare 1.1.1.2 via DOT. However, in my area, my ISP does not choose the closest exchange for quad9 so when round-robin kicks in, it uses cloudflare 90% of the time, as it is usually faster. I would prefer to use quad9...

Configuration advice when using Bell Pure Fibre

Great. Thanks! I'll negotiate with Bell. I'll circle back with you after that, if OK.

Configuration advice when using Bell Pure Fibre

Hi Asus-Merlin friends. I am currently using ax88u with merlin (388.1) on top of a rogers' coda box (in bridgemode). I love it. I am thinking of switching to Bell Pure fibre hi-speed as I can reduce costs for more speeds. Conversely, Rogers has been pretty stable so this is all about a...
