That sucks bigtime. How annoying.
I hope you reinforced the fact it is your 5th Asus router? I have 1 x rt86u (gifted)....2 x AC86u's... (stored) and currently 3 x AX86 Pro's all rock. The new one I bought after the refund is working well so far 🤞
Damn frustrating! Are you able to send it back for replacement or refund?
They've always been very solid and reliable, never ever had an issue. I wonder if moving the manufacturing to Vietnam from China has anything to do with it? I'm sure their quality controls would be the same. Maybe the...
Its frustrating. I feel your pain. Luckily mine was only 4 weeks old. Amazon AU accepted a return. The outcome is posted above. Hope you resolve yours. If you happen to get it going. Please update, thanks
Update.. I did this morning. Yes you're right. Amazon AU accepted a return and have already given me a refund for AUD$333 the cost of the unit. I promptly bought another to replace it.
They have the RT-AX86 Pro for AUD$299 so a bonus, Its the cheapest I've seen it.
Their returns system was...
Hi bennor, thanks for your reply.
I've just tried the method you suggested. Watched the video too. Unfortunately, the power light remains on. I held the WPS button for much longer than was shown in the video. I guess something is failed in the internals. I will try again later.
Thank again for...
Hi thanks for your prompt reply. No nothing attached.
I will test with another power adaptor first. If that doesn't work. I will contact Amazon AU and see what they have to say.
I'll update tomorrow.
Thanks again!
Hi all,
I hope someone can help.
I purchased an Asus RT-AX86 Pro from Amazon AU on 3rd December. It has been working fine, and I had it set up as an AiMesh node. However, this morning, after 1 month of use, it stopped working.
I disconnected it and tried performing a hard reset using the...
It's a Galaxy tablet... only uses wifi... also I tested it using YouTube stream... I willl clear the cache also and try again... thanks for your response.
Ah! Interesting.....this could be the reason.
I will test terminating established connections. Then try connecting again to see what...
Using this method. It took about 8 mins before access is blocked.
However, when unblock, access returns almost immediately.
Its quite inconsistent. I'm at 15mins and access is not blocked as yet.
I have looked through various posts for an answer but with no joy. Any advice is appreciated
I also like the fact that this FW is not 3rd party per se because there is collusion with ASUS who actually implements some of the features. Besides many of the bugs in the Official FW tend to be ironed out and the Merlin version tends to be stable as...from what I have experienced over the...
Thanks for the suggestion... unfortunately, its not available in Australia and importing is just too much hassle anyway.
The EX7000 which seems to have a great reviews, can be placed in a desktop like position. But, I think I would rather get the R7000 which is slightly cheaper and can be...
I haven't on my 68U thanks... and thanks for your prompt response.
I am no Networking or Firewall expert, but just know enough to get by and always appreciate input from others that know better.
As answered earlier by another poster, my only concern was that the 88U, according to the website...
Thankyou ... :)
I'm hoping that this router has a faster CPU and more RAM than the 68U that I have now... which it apparently does, mainly to handle VPN's.
I like the fact that it has 8 ports and 2 of them can be used for LAG to my QNAP ... eliminating having to use a managed switch with IEEE...
I have asked this on another forum with no success. I've searched for answers without success either, so forgive me if this has been answered before.
I am thinking of purchasing this router so I did a comparison on the ASUS website with the RT-AC88U and my RT-AC68U.
I noticed
RT-AC68U...
