Any Reason EA-AC87 Admin Page is Slooooowwwww?

I've had 2 ASUS routers where the router functions seem to work fine, but the web interface is slow or completely non-responsive after a while. I now have my routers scheduled for a weekly reboot (which you can do from the admin page) and haven't had any problems since. That hints at a memory...

Alternatives to Guest Network for iot devices

Thanks for the tip. I had considered switching to Tomato. None of the routers in my current arsenal support FreshTomato. However, to your point, a lot of those on the supported list are readily available used. Including I had one on that list that I gave away when I decided I liked AiMesh and...

Alternatives to Guest Network for iot devices

First: My apologies if this has already been discussed. I honestly searched the threads. Like many, I created a guest network for all of my iot devices, with the access intranet disabled. However, I'm wondering if this is more trouble than it's worth. Several of my iot devices need to...

    ASUS Router Mesh Issues.

I have a similar setup, except with another AC series router for the satellite router. Mine works great using latest released firmware on all routers. I'm curious why you'd want the AC as the main router and the AX as the satellite. It seems to me you'd want the AX series as the primary, and...

Ethernet Connection Degradation between AiMesh Node and Main Router?

The standard is IEEE 518. However, to be fair I I work in industry, and was taught the values for industrial environment, where power mains are often 460-4kV or even 7kV. I was never taught the values for 120/220Vac domestic mains and would have to take your word for it. But agreed the 1.1 meter...

Ethernet Connection Degradation between AiMesh Node and Main Router?

Let me stress that I am not an expert. I know enough to be dangerous, but am just trying to be helpful. So if someone else who knows more contradicts me, believe them. However, I have an identical setup (only with 88U's instead of 86U's) and I don't have this problem. The IEEE protocols for...

Does Asus-Wrt mantain a list of "blacklisted" devices?

Thanks for the tip. It was configured for auto, and was using channel 2. Being as how at this exact moment in time everything is communicating I didn't want to change that, so it's fixed at 20MHz and channel 2. If communications go down again I'll switch to 1, 6 or 11.

Does Asus-Wrt mantain a list of "blacklisted" devices?

GT-AC5300. 386 firmware, though this problem existed with older versions as well. 2nd guest network 2.4GHz band, WPA2, no intranet access.

Does Asus-Wrt mantain a list of "blacklisted" devices?

Scenario - I have Guest Network 2 enabled for my IoT devices, with access intranet restricted. I've long had a couple of devices who would work great for a long time. I make some change to the configuration to the one of the IoT devices, device works fine for short time with the new...

iPad & iPod failing to connect to Asus Router

Are you using the "Smart Connect" feature? I used to have all kinds of problems with Smart Connect and Apple devices. It was to the point I had to disable it as some Apple devices just would not stay connected. However, a year or two later I made some major changes to my Wi-Fi network (upgraded...

News [Announcement] the official #asuswrt IRC channel will be moving to the Libera network

It is. IRC is one of the (if not the) first chat forums devloped for the internet. It's older than the World Wide Web, and back in the day had to be accessed via mainframes and terminals. But while primitive, it still has some advantages over more modern chat protocols for some applications...

News [Announcement] the official #asuswrt IRC channel will be moving to the Libera network

I'm involved in two other projects where freenode was the chat forum of choice, and have recently left. I don't know what happened there; and I don't want to know. I have enough drama in my life as it is. But I am curious given I'm 3 for 3 of projects I'm involved with bailing on freenode in the...

ASUSWRT 386 RC2 public beta with full functions AiMesh 2.0 (part 3)

I have seen this issue in the past, but it's working fine now (GT-AC5300 on an AiMesh network and RC11 firmware, mixed-system, the nodes are dual-band) When I had problems I turned off Smart Connect. For some reason Smart Connect was problematic with the Apple devices on the Wi-Fi in my house...

Asus AC88 node connected to Aimesh but with no clients..why?

It sounds to me like the system is working. In my case I've had a longstanding problematic corner in my house. I put a router as close to the dead corner as I could, initially in AP mode before AiMesh 2.0 was available. I've seen similar, devices that are significantly closer to that "dead...

Asus AC88 node connected to Aimesh but with no clients..why?

Not much information here for us to help you. I've had an 88U as a node in an AiMesh system, and it's working great. I'm using ethernet backhaul mode back (so not even Wi-Fi as a backup) to the main router and am using the .386_41994 firmware that's on asus.com. I can only offer two guesses...
