Job done, it worked :) Wifi networks on new router all now showing and connected to the 5Ghz now, panic over... until I get a nice BSOD probably :rolleyes:

Thanks Colin, it didn't come with the 7260, I swapped the original wifi adapter for it. I can't remember what the original one was.

Appreciate all the recommendations and advice. I managed to get a good deal on an RT-AX86U as they seemed to be the model favoured by all (and good 2nd hand resale value and demand as well if I didn't like it) All seemed good and well, my old devices are all working with it but then I found one...

Forgot to say the other brand I had personal good experience with was Linksys. I have an old Linksys hooked up to my 16+ year old webcam as a wireless bridge on a timer plug. It has been flawless for many many years on DD-WRT. I think that's my main complication and reason for not using security...

Sounds fair. I didn't know if one might be a renowned lemon with loads of issues so thought best to post out and see if anyone knows any major failings as may be a month or something and need it to be fairly reliable to work from home too. The wifi seems much the same on both I think.
