Thanks for comments, my last router was AX88U where I used WPA3 and AiMesh, so I don't think it's that as I don't recall seeing. Maybe is due to the fact I got a twin pack BT8, and this is how the 2nd router connects as set at the factory. I will do some more digging, just move to a new...
Just setup a new BT8, currently just the main router as not got around to setting up node yet. I only have 2.4 and 5 ghz clients.
Anyway I see two what appear to be mirror networks if I scan wifi that have what look like hex IDs at the broadcast name. The MAC IDs are almost identical to the...

Ended up having to factory reset my AX88U…
Within 24 hours of updating I experienced super slow internet (0.5 Mbps vice 920), thought it was an ISP issue as rebooting router and ONT made no difference.
ISP suggested using their supplier router, did that and it was fine. So I powered AX88U...
I see there is a new firmware showing up inside the app, assume web interface too, but it isn’t on the ASUS website.
Without website being updated I’m not sure we can see a change log anywhere?
Updated:
Found it on website under Driver & Tools > Others, someone must have tagged incorrectly on...
Been using the AX88U for 6 months with no issues with ISP Zen which uses BTs network. Speed 900mbps, no custom settings, it just worked when given the PPPoE login details.
Bizarre, I updated 24 hours ago and oddly wifi seems to be 100+Mbps faster, and I do regularly test. It’s even faster on a DX4 node (wired backhaul), so maybe it isn’t wifi but the routing that’s faster for WiFi?
Connection is FTTP 1gbps over PPPoE, normally wifi is 600-650mbps, now I’m seeing...
A limitation is fine, but why imply it could test a connection of 900mbps. Does the country where it was designed not have internet that fast, which I doubt.
Thanks for all the comments, I don’t have QoS turned on, but I do have parental controls on. When I get a chance I will do some more testing.
From comments this would almost seem like a bug, as I am sure a command line Speedtest (on router) could cope with the speed, but maybe not. Maybe this...
I just noticed that the QoS page of my new AX88U has a speed test, don't think my old AC87U had this.
Anyway I thought this would be the best speed test as it's on the router, but it's showing almost half my connection speed.
Anyway my FTTP connection is sold as 900/100 and via command line...
I did a bit more searching and found an article on this forum, via Google, that suggests it's a bug with LinSSID on Ubuntu.
https://www.snbforums.com/threads/asus-rt-ax86u-2-4ghz-auto-forces-40mhz-bw.71947/
Although I note changing the mode to "N only" it shows as 20MHz in LinSSID as noted in...
