[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.6 is now available

No available build yet. Just a snippet from github log with the last changes made by Merlin: https://github.com/RMerl/asuswrt-merlin.ng/commit/e8f890ad535a812f1a11a5e6a1ecf1c2e74bc5ab

Did you already try to delete the WLAN settings on your devices and configure the connection again?

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.67 is now available

Thank you very much for the feedback. Would have been a great feature and I had hopes since 2014 that Asus would perhaps add it one day or other. But what do you mean with old kernel and "this platform"? What would be a platform, besides a NAS, with a new kernel? Any other Asus router?

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.67 is now available

Could someone please test if the latest firmware support a USB hub at the USB3 port now? Older firmware versions didn't recognize the USB hub. Or does is still only work with the USB2 port?

    [RT-AC87U] Increase USB3.0 disk speed?

You could also check the mount options in your fstab file. Especially noatime and async. I have an AC56U with overclocked 1200/800 specs and I also get about 52MB/s performance (Samba). Tried some other settings with fstab and smb.conf, but wasn't able to get any better values. Here is an...

    Entware-ng for arm, mipsel ....

I hope this is a good place to ask for it: Could someone please compile the following little tool as a Entware package? https://github.com/hoytech/vmtouch

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Unfortunately it didn't help. The solution seems to be to add the parameter "nobuf" of the Paragon NTFS driver for the mountpoint. UUID=4C84D53V4D964CC /tmp/mnt/asus3 ufsd rw,noauto,nodev,noexec,noatime,async,nls=utf8,nobuf 0 0 Now the harddrive spins up earlier and the first video doesn't...

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

I can't say anything if it's a known issue. But I think as a workaround you could try to map the USB-disk to a fix mount point via fstab. Create a "fstab" file in the /jffs/configs folder with this line for example: UUID=4C84D974355684D9 /tmp/mnt/asus3 ufsd...

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Yes, I did. Both SSIDs and all clients don't have any special character. The unused spaced isn't any real issue. It was only the first thing I've noticed after my first login that the alignment of the elements is a little bit strange. Ok. My, strange. Perhaps I will give it another try some...

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Yesterday I've switched the firmware from merlin-380.58 to this fork. Everything went quite smooth without any big issues. And the AC56U is running fine. Big thanks John. But I want to adress some points I've noticed: 1. Opening the web interface I've noticed some unused space in the upper part...

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

I want to give this fork a try as I don't use the special Asus online services or the new DPI engine. But before installing I have three short questions: 1. Will there be any big/critical changes in the next final release which aren't included in the BETA release yet? 2. Currently I'm using...

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Thanks for your opinion John. I think I will give it a try over the christmas holidays. But I will test the USB connection immediately after the firmware flash before doing the configuration part of the router.

    Samba share speed fix?

Is the drive visible via "fdisk -l" and really /dev/sda1? Regarding the "Invalid argument" do you have a customized fstab in your jffs folder? Perhaps it contains invalid mount options/parameter?

    Samba share speed fix?

    1. I've added my USB devices to my custom /etc/fstab, so I don't have much experience with the automtic mount feature of the ASUS firmware. What's inside your fstab? Did you try to disconnect the missing USB drive and reconnect it? Did you already try "mount -a"? 2. I have an AC56U and the...

    Samba share speed fix?

Mh, quite small smb.conf :-) I'm using a complete customized smb.conf via the "custom config files" feature of the Merlin firmware. If you want to try something you could try to add some parameters via the "Postconf scripts" feature ==> smb.postconf...
