AX6000 failed to update firmware 3.0.0.6.102_21514

I confirm this. Router ended in a reboot loop upon upgrade to 3006. Now back to 3004 and all is well. Sad thing is 3006 is full of new features (ASUSWRT5) and I feel missing out on those.

replaced the router today, it was a faulty lan port (physical) on the router. all links negotiate at 1gbps now (same end devices, same cables)

Solved Certain ports capped to 100mbps on ASUS Router

I just explained above that the same cable gives 1Gbps on another LAN port on the router. Use some common sense, come on. I concluded the 2 gigabit ports on the router are faulty as they won't go beyond 100Mbps.

Solved Certain ports capped to 100mbps on ASUS Router

I've already done the usual (clean, reseat, reset router) but the 1st and 4th LAN ports just won't budge and go from 100Mbps to 1Gbps. I used short length cables of different brands, and yes all devices I tested are either 1gbps or 10gbps, but the link only negotiates to 100Mbps Full Duplex. My...

Solved Certain ports capped to 100mbps on ASUS Router

I'm using gold plated really high quality CAT7 cables I get 2-3Gbps from easily. Just cleaned the ports using pressurized air and now 3 ports are 100Mbps instead of the 2 before. Should I get rid of merlin and flash the original firmware?

Solved Certain ports capped to 100mbps on ASUS Router

I'm using ASUS RT-AC87U with the merlin firmware. LAN 1 and LAN 4 seem to be limited to 100Mbps while other ports (including WAN) run a full 1Gbps. I'm using some very expensive 10Gbps CAT7 cables here and looks like no matter where I plug the new cables, these 2 specific LAN ports always...

OpenVPN AES-256-CBC vs PPTP vs Proxy (No Encryption)

hi guys I'm using an openvpn client setup on a router at home and things are working fine, but occasionally I notice lag or performance drops and I have been reading about PPTP VPN which are fast but less secure. Is this really going to make much a difference? I have really no sensitive usage...

    bypassing ISP DNS

i just mentioned above I could have a DNS server running (of my own) at a custom port and then use it. can someone here just tell me how to redirect traffic from certain ports to different ones in the merlin GUI ? for example redirecting all traffic going to port 53 to a custom port 1234 of my...

    bypassing ISP DNS

i already am using VPN but i want to fix this too. im pretty sure no VPN config files are required here. if I can setup a DNS server that listens on custom port like 54, 55. Then forward all queries from router's 53 to that DNS on 55 - it could work. But where do I add these forwards for...

    bypassing ISP DNS

thats not a possibility. i am sure there is someway i can redirect all port 53 dns queries elsewhere through this merlin firmware settings. i'm just not too familiar with it all.

    bypassing ISP DNS

exactly. someone somewhere suggested that I could forward all dns queries from port 53 to port 54 and to another DNS server using this firmware. is that a possibility?
