AND of course the other end of the cable must be plugged in to the xt8 router, not the virgin gateway. You are probably only connected to the xt8 router via 2,4Ghz. That would explain the drop in speed.

Hi. That wont work. The operation mode you are describing is not AP-mode, that requires a cable connection from the dhcp-server to each broadcaster. What you are describing is Repeater mode, and you somehow have them connected to the xt8 that is connected to the firewall which wont work...

Thank you for the replys I would just use the xt8´s as ap´s so no meshing around with Aimesh. The real question is if the 3000 is up for the task or if i´m much better of with same tier (xt8) hw for routing? I also wonder if making the 3000 silent will free up ram and lighten cpu-load i.e...
