New Official Firmware Support from Asus

Hi, just last month (March 2025) Asus dropped a new firmware for their AC models which no longer supported by Merlin because the assumption was Asus no longer supports the routers. But then, Asus dropped ASUS RT-AC88U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386_48322 and ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version...

    386.14 Ai Mesh Time Scheduling

This time scheduling thingy is driving me nuts.. when enabled, people can still bypass by the time restriction by simply connecting to the nodes and having the feature enabled actually cuts my internet speed by half now.. even when NAT acceleration is set to ENABLED, it doesn't mitigate the...

    386.14 Ai Mesh Time Scheduling

You are co You are correct. It is working my CPU harder.. but the reason why I disable NAT acceleration was because I saw a warning in the configuration that time scheduling and other things won't work with NAT acceleration, disabling it will make it work at the cost of higher CPU utilization...

    386.14 Ai Mesh Time Scheduling

Update: I tried disabling NAT acceleration.. and Time Scheduling seems to work BUT now my internet is half the max speed... When I turn NAT acceleration back on, the max speed is back to normal but I bet Time Scheduling won't work..

    386.14 Ai Mesh Time Scheduling

mmm can assigning IP address to specific device works..? I think you're right the MAC is randomized so they can bypass time scheduling. actually I'm trying to implement this feature on my gardeners because they kept using the internet until very late in the morning and overslept so late very...

    386.14 Ai Mesh Time Scheduling

Hi guys, I have a Mesh setup with RT-AC 88U (as the main router), RT-AC66U B1 (node) and RT-AC68U (2nd node) they are all running firmware version 386.13. Seems like everyone can bypass time scheduling rules simply by connecting via nodes.. I see there's another thread discussing the same but...

    Aimesh Nodes Daisy Chain?

I need to daisy chain the nodes too... and it's still happening in 2024.. seems like Asus' development on Mesh is super slow... their latest firmware release which was in November 2023 fixed the high CPU usage.. I hope Merlin implements that fix into his build!

    Asus 386.12_4 Wireless Channel

I think... the culprit is "Bluetooth Coexistence"... I did set it to "Enabled" and since I tried turning it off, I start seeing improvements on 2.4 Ghz funny of me thinking my wireless mouse and keyboard were using bluetooth... modern keyboard and mouse are using 2.4Ghz wifi instead of bluetooth...

    Asus 386.12_4 Wireless Channel

Thanks for the answer guys! Yeah I figured Ai Mesh system still needs more work to be done.. my ISP speed is 150 mbps, when connecting to 5Ghz, I get to that speed just fine.. but when connecting to 2.4 Ghz, the max speed I got was 20 mbps and I sit next to the main router.. which is a head...

    Asus 386.12_4 Wireless Channel

So I have the RT-AC88U (main router), RT-AC68U and 66U_B1 for nodes.. all devices have merlin 386.12_4 firmware.. I just factory reset all 3 devices and then setup the main router configuration to the point that it's functional on its own as a router before I proceed to setup the Mesh system...

    Asus 386.12_4 Wireless Channel

It could be difficult to connect a new mesh wirelessly! I did enable WPS but I couldn't connect the mesh.. so at the end I use ethernet cable.. it's a hassle but I think I reckon everyone has the same issue on this one.. not just me?

    Asus 386.12_4 Wireless Channel

Yes you are correct.. typo on my end.. it's 386 the previous firmware was from original AsusWRT 3.0.0.4.386.48260... it makes my router weak somehow.. and yes, when I flashed Merlin, I did wipe out everything and set it up all over again right from the scratch.. I don't know why the channel...
