AC68 vs BT HomeHub 5 Wireless. HH5 is better !

Hi, I love RMerlin's software. On my AC68 I actually get best reliability and coverage out of John's fork. Might want to try that. Cheers

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Hi, V17E8: Seems when VPN in you cant reach network client who get routed via VPN for outgoing connections for this release. Tried the latest V17E8. Most working great except VPN. I use OpenVPN client on router for my NAS selected via NAS IP. I also use OpenVPN Server to VPN back into home...

    Happy 4th anniversary to us!

Hi Eric, May the Fourth (of April) be with you. My first router was the RT-N66U, put your amazing firmware on shortly after I bought it and never looked back. When asked I recommend ASUS routers because they are good but more importantly because they get great firmware thanks to you. Congrats

Asus RT-AC87 with 378.55_0 vs. Asus RT-AC66 with Fork 374.43_2-13E1j9527

Hi, I have just switched to John's fork on my RT-AC68U from 54.2. They key issue I had was connectivity and stability. My nest Thermostat and Protect frequently (3-4 times a week) connection and took often router restart to re-connect. Laptop and mobile devices often lost connection for a moment...

    NAT Not working

Hi, Suggest to check IP config of clients (not router). Have a look for default gate way (should point to router LAN IP address, eg 192.168.1.1) and DNS Server should point to router or ISP DNS server, same as router. Possible cause, a second DHCP server/router sending wrong config to...

    The rmerlin donation thread.

Also took the opportunity to say thanks garnished with $10. Rmerlin fw is the main reason I choose ASUS routers over all others and never looked back .

    RT-N68U - High CPU temperature

Hi, Running my RT-N68U on RMerlin .39 release. Not overclocked. Radio temps are around 52C (126F). But CPU is 82C (180F). That seems quite scary. Ambient temperature is about 23C. Anyone got similar values? Cheers

RT-AC68U and Synology NAS Surveillance Package

When you use Synology with Surveillance stations they will constantly monitor the video for motion. In your case all 8 cameras. Suggest to try with fewer cameras and over wired instead to verify its the wireless for a start. Also has the same setup worked with another wireless router before...
