Need a new router, advice would be great

Hi, I have an ac86u which is great but I have 2 bedrooms that out of reach even if I only live in a 160m2 apartment for some reason the doors or walls are blocking my wifi so I’m using powerlines to get my devices connected which is not ideal as the actual throughput is weak, 1200mbps advertised...

Need help with home network dilemna

It is on modem bridge mode only if I remember correctly as I set it up few years ago. So what solution do I have as I don’t want to rely on my wifi as I have some dead spots in 2 rooms. I now realised how stupid it was to route from the modem instead of cabling from the router :(

Need help with home network dilemna

Sorry :( but the ASUS router is not getting an internal IP, all my ISP info as my login and password and even the VID number is from the ISP. Also my wan connection is set to PPOe so definitely not an internal ip from the ONT

Need help with home network dilemna

So here’s the thing, ASUS router is plugged through a LAN port from the ONT but when plugging other LAN cables nothing works I just plugged into my laptop and I get an auto generated up adress so I can’t access to ONT login page …

Need help with home network dilemna

i already have power lines rated at 1200 but it’s the reason why I did the cabling as the most I got out of those power lines is maybe 30% and it creates latency as well. The switch idea is interesting but I’ll need another cable indeed :/ first I’ll just plug the laptop directly to the...

Need help with home network dilemna

It’s not a bridge per se as there’s no option to turn it into a bridge, I just disabled it’s wifi and dhcp . If I switch my ASUS to access point I lose a lot of options since the ISP modem is dumbed down significantly

Need help with home network dilemna

So I have been running my home network on wifi mostly as the guy who did the wiring when I did the renovation of my house screwed it up. The only place I can have my isp modem is in the kitchen. So I have the ISP modem there , called another guy who put a cat5e cable through the ceiling to reach...

    Pi-Hole or Diversion or Unbound?

Yep doing same thing it’s been running stable for 2 years now, it’s easy to set up and no maintenance required plus great controls over clients. I’m also running dnsmasq on Pi-hole to direct specific domains to a custom dns to evade geoblocking
