I am not 100% sure as I have not used stock for since whenever I found Merlin's FW, but I think so ... and even if it was "no", using Merlin's FW is a better option than the stock FW
I know nothing about pfBlockerNG unfortunately.
I used the blawk links directly in the aliases - possibly why it didn't work ... ???
Looking forward to the screenshots thanks
Is there any way to automate this?
I have posted my issue here and don't want to double post. But I am trying to set up aliases and rules on pfsense to enable specific tunelling based on sites being accessed.
I have the following aliases for possible firewall rules (I am not sure if this is really the right way):
1...
I should have posted an update earlier. I got it to work. I installed pfsense. In the initial setup just after installation, I created a VLAN10 on my WAN port (igb1). Then set my WAN up to connect to the new igb1.10 port (or is it interface ... ???). Then logged in with GUI and went through the...
My ISP gave me a modem box and a Huawei router. I ditched the Huawei for the superior Asus. I connected the modem to WAN port and changing my LAN to 192.168.2.1 and pretty much plug-n-play. It work quite easily. I did have to add VLAN10 though. The modem has only one port - WAN. The ISP provides...
I asked there too ... someone there told me it is not really a pfsense issue and that I should ask locally. I did respond - will see how that goes. I asked locally too on geekzone, but their forums are quiet ... unless you want to talk about movies and safe disposal of Li-ion batteries.
So, I...
Most will know I am pretty noob with this stuff - but can't you just permit your mac addresses and then provide a static IP and then do what Merlin suggested?
So, because I was advised by Merlin and others on here to get a more powerful router … I got myself one of those HP 8200 SFF elite PCs and thought - build a router!
It is way overkill but, for a reason. What I want to do is have a router that can manage multiple VPN connections without losing...
Referencing back to 1st post. Do I use 192.168.1.0/24 for all IPs with WAN on every client (1-5) and then select the IPs of the devices individually for VPN interface for the different clients? Or do I just start selecting IPs in the clients where I want to use them?
No worries Ted... You asked the same questions I was interested in.
Further from my VPN provider:
I am just a little concerned that I might overload the router though
Thanks Ted. Will check it out.
Update on previous post: VPN provider's initial response is no, I can't connect to multiple clients on one router. But referred me to their specialist support. Now waiting for them to come back ro me.
Oh boy... My script skill suck at best. I'd have to do a lot of research to do that. I was hoping that the multiple clients on Merlin fw would at least allow what my intended use is. If the answer to that question is yes, then I would be more confident to play around. I will ask my VPN provider...
