    Ok. This is a very last resort and it would still mean that I would most likely have to buy two routers in order to mesh due to lack of coverage.

    Ok. Well, I don't have much options as it is now. I'm not planning to buy a new router and I need the mesh network to reach everywhere needed. As for the troubleshooting without the AC68U that'll have to wait since I have a tenant who is otherwise without internet. But, I'll look into that. Thanks.

    Thanks for the tip. It became a lot more stable. Had an uptime of approx 7 days before it stopped working again. Then it was another few days. I'll will monitor again and post the log here. I really do appreciate your input because I had no idea of where to go next.

    I'm not sure that it must have gone up/down. What if the DHCP lease expires and the WAN interface gets new IP from the ISP? Does the WAN interface really go up/down then. I know it's an edge case (I've had the same IP for 7+ years), but still.
