I recall RouterOS 6.x has a poor encryption implementation of OpenVPN. Did the newer versions in 7.x take care of that. Also, how does Asus’ OpenVPN compare to Mikrotik’s… has anyone benched the throughput?

I'll stick to the buggy implementations of SMB2 with Sonos. SMB1 with Sonos was buggy in its own way. I had some hope when Sonos implemented version SMB2 earlier this year.

I have upp'ed my Samba connections to 99 through the GUI with the latest update (386.7), and enabled multicast as recommended on the Sonos forums. What's a good log level number? I see the log level is zero in smb.conf... how do I add the change to smb.postconf? Right now there are no files...

Keep in mind that a NAS will double the routing requirements for your router. Ideally it would be plugged in via Ethernet; if it is connected over WiFi then it will also double your wireless bandwidth requirement. I see a USB connection to the router simpler and more elegant.
