Advice for AIMesh Placement with AC3100 and Lyra Trio

Update for adding AP-mode routers to the Asus Router app. Under "Insights" it will detect that there are other routers on the network, click on the option there to add the access points one by one to the app. They will then appear under the hamburger menu and you can flip between routers.

Advice for AIMesh Placement with AC3100 and Lyra Trio

Yep, Ethernet backhaul was set to preferred. Beam forming, mimo, fairness , roaming assist all off. Reset everything a few times, even tried to isolate lyras in case there was a bad one. All behaved the same - strong signal and then client just disconnects with no log entry to give any clue as...

Advice for AIMesh Placement with AC3100 and Lyra Trio

Well that didn’t go as expected! Long story short - the 3100 and Lyra trios just don’t want to work together in AIMesh mode. Constant disconnects, I tried all the advice and settings on the forums to no avail. After several resets and various attempts while the family gave me disapproving...

Advice for AIMesh Placement with AC3100 and Lyra Trio

Looking for opinions on placement changes for my newly ordered Trio setup. Three-story home (basement, ground, upper) with 1/4 acre pie-shaped back yard. Wireless devices pretty much everywhere in the home and back yard. Current: AC-3100 located centrally on the ground floor, old original...

AiMesh - mix Merlin FW with ASUS stock FW?

I'm running an AC3100 as my primary router, with two AC66U hardwired as access points in the farther corners of my home. Given that the AC66U won't receive Merlin FW updates on the new branch, I'm thinking that I'll eventually revert to the ASUS stock firmware once they get around to adding...

Bluetooth Interference RT-AC3100 - new hardware solves it

Followup for anyone who comes across this thread later via a search. - ASUS RMA in Toronto was fairly painless. I was able to drop off the router at the service depot in Markham. If they had one in stock they would have swapped it for me right there, but they had to order one in. Replacement...

Bluetooth Interference RT-AC3100 - new hardware solves it

@Max thanks for the suggestion, yes I've tried the latest firmware on both A2 and A6. A2 still exhibits the bluetooth interference, A6 does not. @RMerlin thanks for the suggestion and for all the work you put into the firmware and community! Yes, I've tried all combinations of Bluetooth...

Bluetooth Interference RT-AC3100 - new hardware solves it

I've been pulling my hair out for several days troubleshooting a bluetooth interference issue. I've had this router working wonderfully for a year, and the bluetooth issues in my home office just started in the last 2-3 weeks. Long story short, I've isolated it to the 2.4GHz radio on my...

Keep broadcast packets off of Wifi?

Thanks for the suggestion! I enabled IGMP snooping and it didn't seem to make much difference initially. I made a few other tweaks as well and now the AC3100 seems to be able to handle the load. The two AC-66U access points still become unusable though, and I notice that on one of them the...

Keep broadcast packets off of Wifi?

I'm having some issues with what I think is a misbehaving device. I picked up a Miracast HSV891 HDMI over ethernet transmitter. In theory, it encodes video and then broadcasts it over your IP network to one or many receivers. That actually does work. However... it is killing my wifi. Wired...
