Today I fiddled with different settings, but no luck so far.
It looks like I do not understand the combination of the function bridge, vlan and interfaces.
I tried setting up bridge br1. Then removed eth1 and eth2 from bridge br0 and added to bridge br1.
As soon as I add interface eth0 the box...
Managed switch in front of router won't work with routed ip config of provider KPN. The multicast streams are on a different VLAN, and the STB needs ip adresses out of 2 VLANs.
In the former bridged TV configuration I had it indeed working with a managed switch as first end user premise device.
Hi all,
Based on my last question to fiddle with VLAN's at the WAN interface to support IPTV with KPN in the Netherlands, I came up with another possible solution. I want to use my AC66 for the WIFI signal's. Also I want to use the OpenVPN server.
so, is it possible to make a bridge between...
Ok, thanks for the suggestion. So I am stuck on the router/gateway of my provider. I can use the AC66 as access point. Now I need to be able to use the OpenVPN service. I shall open a new thread for that option. Again: many thanks for thinking with me for a solution.
A couple of months ago my provider (KPN) switched itv from bridged mode to routed mode. At that moment I had to rebuild the network according to their specs because of the non-working tv.
But I want the control back of my internet router, and more specific: I really miss the OpenVPN support...
Today I finally made the upgrade to 378.55 on my AC66 router. I came from 378.53_0 release. Upgraded first to 378.54 and then to 378.55.
Unfortunately things did not went smoothly. A reboot by power flip made the router not be able to connect to WAN. To fix that I've tried several things (...
Today i noticed a serious issue with wlan speed. I am not sure how long that problem already exists. 'Once upon a time' i had a rock solid wlan connection on 5Ghz band. Speed rates of >80Mb on a 100Mb fiber connection was normal.
Today i measured nothing higher than approx 35Mb. With a cable...
Good point of ordering the rules in the INPUT chain. For that one perhaps the issue is indeed the fact that i am appending to the ruleset.
But this can't be the reason of the OUTPUT chain since the only rules in there were the blocking of the dhcp answer based on mac-adress.
In fact while...
Indeed a type.
Just tried both commands:
1. service restart-dnsmasq
2. service restart_dnsmasq
Both lines return an empty line followed with an 'ok' line.
But sure: command 2 with the underscore reloads the custom file.
Thank you!
I've Always thougt that firewall rules for OUTPUT also were used for service like dnsmasq. Apparently not. So I've learned a bit more today ;-)
unfortunately does the service restart-dnsmasq not the trick to reload/reread the /jffs/config/dnsmasq.conf.add file. This works like a charm after a...
Thank you for this info. This seems to work.
Still I don't get why the filtering by firewall rules won't work. But this does seem to do the trick.
And as so often: next question will be: how can i force this update's without a total reboot of the router ? I searched to service stop or...
Hi there,
I have a not so normal situation with my provider in the Netherlands. I use the provided residential gateway router of the provider only for Voip & TV setop boxes. For internet i use an Asus AC66u with RMerlin firmware. Between the fiber connection and both routers is a netgear...
Sorry, has nothing to do with merlin firmware.
Media convertor fiber-copper, and linksys managed switch reboot solved my problems. I'm back to .42 release
I'm not quite sure yet. But since i moved from .41 to .42 i got complaints from people in my household. Disconnecting traffic, and restart windows solves everything.
Also since i moved from .40 to .41 i have the feeling my wan speed dropped. So i am not able to get full 10mbps up/down.
I...
If i can help in anyway to reproduce this issue: i am willing to help
And the search did mention a lot of questions, but this answer of RMerlin I did not find it.
For now i just wait then. Its more a nice to have, so i can live with this bug.
