Problem Wifi 5Ghz with RT-AC87U in Europ

Regarding the region being "baked into" the CFE, I apologize if I was incorrect on my advice about flashing to region-specific firmware. As far as the second part of my post - that routers purchased outside the EU are not compliant with EU regulations - that is spot-on correct. So the best...

Problem Wifi 5Ghz with RT-AC87U in Europ

This is part of the firmware. If you can, update the firmware using an EU image - this should have the proper settings required for your region. Another issue you may run into is EU regulations for you device - EU regulations are specific to the EU and your ISP may get upset and send you a nasty...

DNS timeout on wifi asus PCE-AX58BT

Open your Event Veiwer and search both the Application and System nodes for "DNS" and let us know if there are any entries.

DNS timeout on wifi asus PCE-AX58BT

As mentioned in my last post, take a look at your PC's power plan and make sure your NIC doesn't get powered down after inactivity.

DNS timeout on wifi asus PCE-AX58BT

I assume you're running a version of Windows - you didn't state that but since Windows has 90+ % of the desktop market share ... Take a peek at your power settings, it could be that your NIC is powering down during periods of inactivity but not fully powering back up. Windows can be weird like that.

DNS timeout on wifi asus PCE-AX58BT

Do you have any other hosts on your network that you can test with? If so, that can help isolate the issue.

DNS timeout on wifi asus PCE-AX58BT

"Ip addresses obviously" You didn't state it in your post so I can't assume it to be the case. Are you able to test with more than one host? If so, are the results the same? If you're only having difficulties with one host, try clearing that host's DNS cache. You might also want to take a peek...

When you said that you can ping and use telegram just fine, are you using their IP addresses or domain names for access?

    Entware E-mailrelay Package

Has anybody had any success with the Entware package "e-mailrelay"? I'm trying to set it up as an email proxy and getting nowhere. I've read the Wiki for it and configured it on my router as instructed but still no go. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

OpenVPN Clients Can't Reach Subnet / Child Network

To add to the weirdness, I woke up to start working on IPTables and tested before doing anything and, quite to my surprise, everything works as I'd wanted it to - the child network has Internet access blocked at the primary router and I can log in via VPN and access my cameras. I rebooted both...

OpenVPN Clients Can't Reach Subnet / Child Network

Storm passed us by and I didn't even have to test the new grill :) I'm beginning to believe the reason the router isn't allowing my VPN connection to the child network when it's blocked is because the VPNed packets don't show their origin as being from within the network. I also believe they...

OpenVPN Clients Can't Reach Subnet / Child Network

Sorry for the late response, I've got a newborn that takes a good deal of my time, plus I'm in south Florida (I only live here, I'm not actually from here) and preparing for the coming storm Fred (great name, huh?). I'll probably not be able to do anything with this for another day or two...

OpenVPN Clients Can't Reach Subnet / Child Network

I had forgotten to add that, after adding the firewall rule I had run the command "iptables -vnL OVPN" and expected to see the rule listed there - it was not. I then ran "iptables -vnL FORWARD" and found the rule listed there as the first one. Not sure if that makes a difference.

OpenVPN Clients Can't Reach Subnet / Child Network

So creating the firewall rule did not make the difference, but setting "Client will use VPN to access" to "Both" did; however, I also had to unblock the child router from the "Network Map" page, which defeats the purpose of having the child router in the first place. Does setting the VPN...

OpenVPN Clients Can't Reach Subnet / Child Network

Ok, so the "push" directive has been added, the block has been removed and there is no change. I've re-run the commands on each router and have attached their outputs. If that were the case, wouldn't that also prevent access to the child router from any host connected to the primary router? I...
