    HomePlug AV Adapter Roundup

Apologies for confusion. By Tap - I mean each powerline adaptor.. Was viewing my powerline as single data link, and each adaptor as a tap on to the line... I'm using Devolo Homeplug AV Easy adaptors. I updated firmware now on all 3, and it seems to have made it slightly better.. However -...

    HomePlug AV Adapter Roundup

I was expecting the former, but saw the latter, and even then the performance drop was much worse than I was expecting.. Had one plugged into main broadband router.. First tap off was to a GbE switch up in the study, and other tap was to my Sony Bluray player. Having the Bluray tap connected...

    HomePlug AV Adapter Roundup

Would have loved if you'ld included the Devolo's in the comparison http://www.devolo.co.uk/consumer/5_dlan-200-avplus_starter-kit_product-presentation_1.html?l=en I've been running the for some time now and find them excellent.. I found no issues downloading at 30Mbps on one device while...

    Dual Band Setup - Opinions/Thoughts

Have the NIC but not the switch - coming later... I know that. I want the QoS at the 5GHz 11n point. This will provide my HD stream from the media server to the HTPC (5GHz 11n), and provide the QoS necessary for both the PS3 (homeplug now, but GbE later) and the Gaming PC (5GHz 11n).

    Dual Band Setup - Opinions/Thoughts

Yeah - had thought about that. Will look to run a Cat6 link up in time. Just don't have the time to try and run a cable to it at this time :( Should have been clearer - PS3 uses one or other at a time. Mostly uses the powerline since that's where it lives most of the time. But sometimes I need...

    Dual Band Setup - Opinions/Thoughts

I've just bought myself a lovely DGL-4500 wireless router. Of particular interest was the gamefuel engine which I plan to make extensive use for both my gaming PC and PS3. Ultimately though - I also want to add 5GHz to my network, primarily to get me out of the constrained 2.4GHz band. I've ~17...
