Currently running thee XT8's(V1) and a RP-AX58 in a mesh setup. Ethernet connection to 1 XT8 and the RP-AX58 from the router (XT8) , with wireless backhaul to the other XT8. On this last upgrade I did not go thru the whole reset each XT8 and RP-AX58 process, but I did do this on the previous...
I have been using the XT8 V1 as a standalone router, plus 2 more XT8 V1 units in a mesh system now for about 6 weeks and it has been stable for me. Of note I only use the default settings, and none of the extra features such as Airprotection, Parental controls etc, other than I have manually...
I can confirm that after deselecting DFS channels and applying this preference , this version of the firmware (on my router) "Does Not" turn off the DFS channels
I am able to deselect the DFS option, but have not applied the selection as I dont want to reboot my system right now. Next time I need a reboot I will try to see if it will apply the choice.
I have updated the main router and all the nodes simultaneously either via the app or from the router settings on the web address. Then you wait and hope it worked for all (on one occasion in the past it did not, and I had to manual upgrade the firmware to each node after downloading the...
This has (as have the last two previous updates ) been very stable even when doing a dirty upgrade (I did not reset the router and all its nodes after each update), which is something that was mandatory to get all the previous updates working well. Also of note the number of comments after each...
I can't remember which update it was but this has happened to me in the past where only the primary router and not the nodes were updated, so I manually upgraded the firmware on each of the nodes (ethernet cable from computer to node) and since then the updates have occurred across all the devices.
Thanks for the feedback. Good to know that the Mac firmware restoration can work if the auto or Web based doesn't. Out of curiosity did this fix the ability to add either unit as a node? If so suggests the new firmware is incompatible with the old as a router/node combo. Also worth remembering🙄
Unfortunately I have not seen that issue before, but I found a reddit thread with a similar problem () but unfortunately no solution.
Have you tried to go back to an older firmware on the RT-AX95Q unit, then do a hard reset and hopefully it will show up as a node? Don't really have any other...
None that I have identified. Following a hard reset I start with the app and follow the instructions in the app. Sometimes the app says it fails so I do another hard reset and try again and for some reason it now works. The node can be even more problematic, app says it can't add the node, so I...
Also as an aside, unlike some past firmware iterations, this has been stable for me for well over a month, and I suspect others who have upgraded, based on the minimal number of comments on this firmware compared to its predecessors. But in my experience, using new firmware without going thru the...
