Will a new modem increase my network speed?

"..Connecting my laptop directly to the cable modem gave a only a slight increase -- about 590 Mbps, instead of the 450-550... What kind of laptop do you have? I found I needed a rather fast i7 and intel nic connected right to the modem.. My older i3 and ?? Nic was not able to do...

Voxel Adding bandwidth monitoring to Voxel R7800

Yes I would recommend the arris sb8200..but does not do voice telephone if you have that from your provider.

Voxel Adding bandwidth monitoring to Voxel R7800

I use this networx software https://www.softperfect.com/products/networx/ on my linux laptop that probes the WAN port via UPnP. Unfortunately they no longer make it for linux. I can see my kid downloading an Xbox game can use 600Mbit/sec. A Netflix preview can burst my WAN to 60Mbit/sec...

What’s the next router to consider?

Perhaps the new Synology AX Router? https://dongknows.com/synology-unveils-rt6600ax-wi-fi-6-router/

Voxel Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.89SF

I'd probably flash to oem first and do a power cycle/reset... just because most people upgrade from that. Other may way in if its a direct flash is ok.

Netgear R7000 upgrade to ASUS RT-AX86U

I think it will increase your speeds. I base this on the facthttps://smile.amazon.com/ that I had an R7000 and the R7800 WLAN coverage is much better. I noticed increased speeds on my devices going to the R7800. Also.. I have gigabit internet service now and I the first thing I noticed is...

What’s the next router to consider?

With NG offering only 90 days of support and usually buggy firmware where they ignore mass pleas for help on their forums I find it hard to purchase any of their network products . Yes Voxel would mandatory.

Voxel Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.85SF

Seems par for course with NG software..and it's still NG centric despite being from voxel..the devices page always did weird things for me. It could be the name or name length if your NAS device..could be anything...I gave up trying to get that page to work right. I found my roku was doing...

Is Ubiquiti Unifi an upgrade from Asus Aimesh?

I guess is sounds more like the router now..if cycling that gets you back. If the family is screaming.. and it's happening really often maybe pick up one locally from a place with a good return policy to see if it does the same thing. .. may buy you some time as you research the best one.

Is Ubiquiti Unifi an upgrade from Asus Aimesh?

It could still be the ONT.. but from what you and others say... yeah start with the router. If I had the family screaming and since I need internet more than ever I'd go out locally or fast ship a replacement from a place with a good return policy.. See if the replacement has the same...

Is Ubiquiti Unifi an upgrade from Asus Aimesh?

Sounds like a problem with your modem or internet signal if you have wifi but no internet?

    Netgear RAX120 Firmware

This is what stops me from buying another NG router...hardware specs are great but it's a 400 dollar router with 90 days of software support. Then one is on their own with any issues...only recourse is to drop back to a working version the firmware and stay on it if you hit a firmware bug..or...

    AX11000 WAN Light RED

I dont have an AX11000 but do have Optimum.. Some thoughts.. Does the red light perhaps correspond to the DHCP IP renewal (seen in a new wan for the router or the modem status logs)? I dont have the problem but noticed my IP gets renewed quite often. Perhaps put a switch (temporarily)...

Voxel Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.84SF

I would think you need to reserve that static up again in the dhcp list...it gets wiped when upgrading to different firmware.
