Mesh system: 2400 sq ft - Wireless backhaul only

Yeah, true. I’m just thinking if getting two AX86Us for the price, even if I’m getting a good deal, wouldn’t be better to just get a tri-band system. Mulling it over now, but thanks.

Mesh system: 2400 sq ft - Wireless backhaul only

Really appreciate the insight! I think I may try this out then. We have about 20-30 active devices or so on the network, give or take. Although only a few are used a lot.

You think so? Should I try this out and run stock ASUS firmware for increased AiMesh reliability? What I continue to read is that AiMesh on Merlin has created problems, and it did for me in the past as well on my AC68U's.

Stable mesh system with dedicated wireless backhaul

In the same search boat as you. I've used Eero in the past--and even though the app and customization is limited, I have had a decent experience. Although in this current era of tech and privacy, I can't help but feel a little uneasy at all the data Amazon is gathering while using their router...

Mesh system: 2400 sq ft - Wireless backhaul only

Thank you all for this. I think I will take this advice for now. Appreciate your $.02. Does anyone know how firmware for XT12 has fared? I'm guessing despite its major hardware bump that similar issues exist. Please correct me if I'm wrong. How about the Synology RT6600ax. I realize it's a...

Mesh system: 2400 sq ft - Wireless backhaul only

That’s pretty cool! Although still, I don’t think at this time I have the means for this. Potentially down the line it’s something I’ve always considered, but for the immediate time being I’m in dire need of changing the setup due to the outdated system and unreliability. Hence why right now I...

Mesh system: 2400 sq ft - Wireless backhaul only

Interesting. Thanks for this. Now that you mention it, I actually remember vaguely reading some having this experience. It seems like ASUS in general is having some issues with firmware. In my place of work we currently have the AX86U which (for the first time) encountered issues on 388.1. I...

Mesh system: 2400 sq ft - Wireless backhaul only

Ah interesting. So you’re on a wired setup even still if I understood that correctly. I wonder if being fully wireless would result in the issues I had on my original AC68U AiMesh setup

Mesh system: 2400 sq ft - Wireless backhaul only

I see. Thanks for your input! I'll look into this. Great call. I meant to actually include that as well. No drops on your node? From what I've read, UNII-4 is a great addition to the 5GHz spectrum for fully wireless backhaul. Edit: and also, are you running Merlin? I've heard actually that...

Mesh system: 2400 sq ft - Wireless backhaul only

Hmm I suppose I could consider that, ethernet backhaul would be near impossible however with my current home and setup. POE has also caused me headaches with another separate project in the past, but I do appreciate your advice.

Mesh system: 2400 sq ft - Wireless backhaul only

Hi all. Long-time lurker, been doing a lot of research on-and-off for the past couple months. Having trouble figuring the right solution for my home, and would appreciate any insight/advice you can provide. Home is two levels - 2400 sq ft. Really only need two-pack system preferably tri-band...
