Solved Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra Doesn't Detect 6Ghz Band on Wifi Router

Oh, I'm all for freebies but not stuff which I don't need like a proprietary 'fast' wireless charger that'll degrade the battery more quickly than if I'd used good old wired 'slow' charging.

Solved Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra Doesn't Detect 6Ghz Band on Wifi Router

Sarcasm aside (or not), have to give them credit for being smart enough to 'allegedly' seek a quick fix to my connection issue on this forum. :D Also doesn't hurt that they kept trying to offer me free stuff and discount codes, which I politely declined.

Solved Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra Doesn't Detect 6Ghz Band on Wifi Router

That's true. I highlighted this glaringly obvious issue to Samsung Tech Support as well and told them to work things out and roll out an OTA software update asap.

Solved Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra Doesn't Detect 6Ghz Band on Wifi Router

Perhaps it could be a Wifi module issue? Noticed that Samsung gradually transitioned away from BCM Wifi modules to QCA. The S21U-S22U used BCM4389 chips while the S23U-S24U both use the QCA FastConnect7800. Probably takes them a generation or two to iron out the bugs when switching to a new...

Solved Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra Doesn't Detect 6Ghz Band on Wifi Router

Did you try disabling 'Switch To better Wi-Fi Networks' in Intelligent Wi-Fi and enabling 'Wi-Fi Safe Mode' in Developer mode? Those are the key workarounds to getting the S21U-S24Us to discover the 6Ghz SSID.

Solved Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra Doesn't Detect 6Ghz Band on Wifi Router

Thanks for the tip. Made me remember that I live in a region where the communications regulator only approved the lower half of the 6Ghz band for public WiFi use. Tried switching the channels to 93 and below and the S24U finally detected the 6Ghz band. I'd previously left channel selection in...

Solved Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra Doesn't Detect 6Ghz Band on Wifi Router

That seems to also be the issue for another set of S24U users as well. https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Galaxy-S24/Galaxy-S24-Ultra-eventually-disconnects-from-wifi-7-claiming-no/td-p/2790128 Both the RT-BE96U and GT-BE98 Pro are affected as well apparently...

Solved Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra Doesn't Detect 6Ghz Band on Wifi Router

It's more like a Samsung issue. I checked over on the Samsung Community forums and it's been a problem from the S21 Ultra to S23 Ultra after launch...until they fix it with an OTA software update later. Routers and APs from Asus toTP-Link seem to be affected. Thought they would have fixed the...

Solved Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra Doesn't Detect 6Ghz Band on Wifi Router

Hi all, Got my hands on the S24 Ultra and found out that it can't detect nor connect to the 6Ghz band on my Asus RT-BE96U. It can detect my 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz bands as Wifi 7-capable (They've both got the little Wifi 7 icon showing in Available Networks) but once I connect to either band, the...

    RT-BE96U Tri-Band

In other news, the Wifi Alliance has a list of routers/APs/clients/chipsets that it's already certified for Wifi 7 since last week. https://www.wi-fi.org/product-finder-results?sort_by=default&sort_order=desc&categories=4&subcategories=24&keywords=Wi-Fi CERTIFIED 7 The BCM4916 chipset is...

Regulatory vs technical considerations WiFi 7 and 6GHz band

Wireless backhaul should still work regardless of region, just that there'll be a smaller number of channels for the 2 X 6Ghz radios to choose from unless you happen to have a house that has some form of RF shielding to circumvent the geo-blocking on the router and client sides... Handy list...

Regulatory vs technical considerations WiFi 7 and 6GHz band

I think the main reason why the Pro versions were offered in North America first is because both the US FCC and Canadian communications regulator released the entire 6Ghz spectrum for unlicensed wireless (Wifi 6E/7) use. So the GT-BE98 Pro with its 2 X 6Ghz bands will be able to fully utilise...

    GT-BE98 WIFI 7

A quad-band router like the GT-BE98 Pro would make a lot of sense if you're doing full wireless backhaul but using the one of the 6Ghz bands for that purpose may not be a good idea given the short range it has. But I guess if you get four GT-BE98 Pros like in your current configuration, that...

Did the same. Your workaround 'fixed' the issue for me as well.

Thanks, I'll give that a try as well.
