    AC86U - httpd not responding

I just changed main router to AC86U and moved AC88U to Mesh Node a week ago. Performance seemed better but have just experienced this same oddity. Have a log server running and see many of these error messages... Error locking /var/lock/clientlist.lock: 28 No space left on device. The...

    Force aimesh on ethernet backhaul?

I got periodic disconnects from clients plugged into 5-8 that weren't that noticeable until connecting my wfh workstation to one of them. I can imagine it would not be good used for the backhaul. I "needed" the AC88U for the link aggregation not provided on the AC86U and was aware of others...

Solved Wireless Amcrest camera dropping connection multiple times per day

Have 4 Amcrest cameras and an Amcrest NVR. 3 cameras and NVR are LAN and 1 camera is wireless. Since updating to Merlin 386.1 I've seen the wireless camera dropping connection in the log as if attempting to roam. Bound the camera to the closest AP but the drops continued. Most drops were...

Seeking best option to add AiMesh to an existing RT-AC88U?

I would start with one 68U and see how you do. I spent months looking at connections, speeds, wifi settings, firmwares, nuclear resets, power adjustments, etc with no gains. Rewired the house with nice shielded cables but still had issues with wifi cams dropping, weird client bindings, etc...

Seeking best option to add AiMesh to an existing RT-AC88U?

You want the newest and most powerful router to be the main router. Some folks have issues mixing AC and AX in a mesh system while I think it works fine for others. The AC88U is older tech than any AX and even the AC86U you mentioned above (you may have meant 68U vs 86U). The key is having...

Seeking best option to add AiMesh to an existing RT-AC88U?

I have the AC88U as main and an old AC68U as my mesh and it covers a large footprint. Since I don't have anything needing the speed of AX this works fine for me and I didn't spend a bundle. I used to run 2 of the AC68Us in a mesh setup until upgrading with the AC88U. Tried to run both the...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 is now available

Look around, maybe you'll see something new, like a whole new tab below Network Map that plainly says AiMesh. Definitely an Id 10 t issue. I did bring the 68u node over to Merlin so there is a bright side to my dim bulb. Running great! Temps 34 - 42 - 55 with 53 clients and 1 old laptop...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 is now available

384_19 to 386.1-5 "dirty" upgrade on RT-AC88U. ~20 mins to clear CPU and login. AiMesh node left on stock 386_40558-gc48f410 firmware. All clients appear connected but the node only shows 2 clients connected (usually has 15) and clicking the icon to see details does nothing. Have rebooted...
