    Ubiquiti APs or something else

Thanks that sounds good. I'll go with 2x the Ap AC LR and see how it works. One question regarding the controller software: Is it necessary to have it running all the time? I read that it is mainly required for the setup but not really afterwards?

    Ubiquiti APs or something else

Hi, my current setup: TP-Link ER5120 as my router for load balancing a DSL connection and a LTE connection, Apple Airport Extreme (older version with 802.11 n) as AP for WLan, Asus RT-N66U as AP for WLan I have to use 2 separate SSIDs as the handoff doesn't work like I want it. So I would like...

Router with load balancing for DSL + LTE connection

From what I know it is the problem of the router/modem my ISP hands out. PPPoA is used for ADSL and PPPoE for VDSL like everywhere else. But I require a PPTP to PPPoA relay if I want to use my own router and switch the one from my ISP to SingleUser where it runs similar to a normal modem. (It...

Router with load balancing for DSL + LTE connection

I have a Technicolor TG588v router/modem from my ISP. I'm allowed to use it in a Multiuser mode where the TG588v establishes the connection which would lead to double NAT if I put another router behind it. The other option is Singleuser mode where my router connects via PPTP relay and I input my...

Router with load balancing for DSL + LTE connection

The Zyxel supports load balancing but only weighted balance. I just checked the Peplink Balance 20 which has a ton of load balance options and seems to be kinda easy to setup. The Balance 20 also supports my LTE Stick natively so that is a real nice alternative option for me. Edit: just...

Router with load balancing for DSL + LTE connection

Hi, I currently have a 8Mbit ADSL connection and I want to add a 50Mbit LTE connection to my network and load balance my traffic between those two. Ping sensitive stuff will be going via the DSL (like online gaming) and most of the other stuff like streaming will be going via LTE or LTE/DSL...

    RT N66U wireless almost unuseable

k here is the screenshot from my laptop. Laborweg and Laborweg 5g are the 2.4g and 5g of the Asus router. Laborweg 2 is the 2.4g + 5g network from the APE which works fine. edit: I just switched the Asus with an old Apple Airport Express that I have sitting here. I configured it like my APE so...

    RT N66U wireless almost unuseable

    RT N66U wireless almost unuseable

the clients have updated drivers. I use an older Macbook Air and my normal pc with a Netgear N600 adapter. Switching to different channels: do I just manually try every one of them because on inSSIDer it is pretty clear that nothing disturbs my wifi networks atm.

    RT N66U wireless almost unuseable

Hi, I bought a RT N66U to extend my current wifi at home which consist of an Apple Airport Extreme. I upgraded it to the newest firmware and set it up as an Access Point. The 5g is not useable at all so unstable is it. Even with the 2.4g I get pings of around 500-2000 right next to the router...

Setup: where to plug the router?

thanks for the reply. Does it matter if I turn off the firewall and other features on the TP-link or is it useless if I use a DMZ to forward the traffic to the AEBS? edit: I just finished setting everything up but the AEBS gives me a warning message "Double NAT". Is that a problem? If it is how...

    strong wifi dual band router?

Hi, I need a new router for my house (2 floors, concrete). I am looking for a dual band simultaneous router. I don't need many fancy features since I mostly use pretty standard features but DynDns support would be nice but not required. Much more important is a good wireless coverage and nice...

    Help me find a NAS

Hi, I'm looking for a NAS and hope you guys can help with the decision. Functions I'm looking for: FTP, Torrent, Raid 1 or 5 (doesn't matter) And I would like to run a Teamspeak or Ventrilo server on it if possible. Is there a NAS that can do that stuff? Would it be better to build my own?
