RT-N66U - High CPU load when https enabled

I'm having the same issue with latest Merlin firmware (380.59) on my RT-AC66U. HTTPS is ramping the httpd daemon near 100% usage and this kill the router. I have to go back to HTTP and then the httpd daemon is back to less than <1% usage.

    [DD-WRT] Asus RT-AC68U vs Netgear R7000 vs other ?

No worries Merlin, thanks :) I was thinking about this again this morning and a company came to my mind : Ubiquiti. They aren't as expensive as Cisco stuff, but they are more "business" than DD-WRT and a home router. For the same price of an R7000 or an RT-AC68U, I could get a small Ubiquiti...

    [DD-WRT] Asus RT-AC68U vs Netgear R7000 vs other ?

Thanks for replying so promptly Merlin. They unfortunately don't have a manageable switch in place. They actually have wired 2 desktops, 1 server and the payment terminal on their current router. That's pretty much it about the copper, everything else is wireless (2 laptops and 1 printer)...

    [DD-WRT] Asus RT-AC68U vs Netgear R7000 vs other ?

A PCI-compliant router is not required, at least for our Self-Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ). It is just mandatory that the payment terminal must not be able to talk to others on the network. Which is why I am looking at subnetting. I too would prefer a business-class product (my primary job is...

    [DD-WRT] Asus RT-AC68U vs Netgear R7000 vs other ?

Hi, I am looking for a new router for one of my customer. My customer is getting PCI certified, therefore I must isolate in a separate subnet the payment terminal. Their current router (Linksys EA4500) does not support having multiple subnets, so I am looking at a router that can have DD-WRT...

Are there any reasons not to buy an Asus RT-N66U ?

The internal antennas on the AC56U don't scare me; I live in a small appartment. It's that 2.4Ghz issue that scares me. People are complaining over Newegg and even these forums that they got very slow speed and connections drops as well on 2.4Ghz. I was going to buy the AC56U until this morning...

Are there any reasons not to buy an Asus RT-N66U ?

This device is quite old, few years old, but is having a pretty good rebate right now (120$CDN, usually around 150$). I need to replace my RT-N16 as it is slowly dying of old age. I love my RT-N16, so I figured I should stick with Asus. And Asus routers have good third parties firmwares support...

Is the RT-AC68U or Netgear R7000 overkill for my situation?

Thank you for the article. That was a very interesting reading. I've been looking to upgrade my RT-N16 to an RT-AC56U since my RT-N16 is having hardware issues. I guess it is getting old (5 years). I saw on Newegg's reviews that the 2.4Ghz on the AC56U is having trouble. Well, some users...

Looking at my first NAS - opinions needed

That is good support ! Out of curiosity, did you like the 213/213+ ? You mentionned that you tried them both. I've read good things about Netgear and their new OS seems great, but everywhere I look around it mentions that it is still missing features. Some features are being redone in their...

Looking at my first NAS - opinions needed

Hi all, I am looking into buying my first NAS. I've been looking at NASes for some years now but I'm about to take the plunge in the coming weeks. I have done some researches and found interesting options, I think. But first, here is what I'll be looking to do with my NAS. I currently have...

Please Check This Proposed Synology NAS!!!

The hard drives won't do much differences in a NAS. But my personal favorite would be the Samsung F3.

QNAP TS-293 Pro II or Synology DS710+?

I am no NAS expert, but I am in the process of buying one. I still have to decide, but the 239 Pro II and the DS710+ are in my choices. In term of functionality, there are pretty similar. I'ld suggest you try the live demos of QNAP and Synology on their websites to see which menu you like...

Netgear ReadyNAS Duo vs QNAP TS-219P

Thanks for the Ultra 2 information. I will have a look at this for sure. The Atom CPU seemed very promising. If I am correct, the TS-239P from QNAP uses the Atom and it is a very very good unit. As for the RAID1, I know I would loose all data. I'm used to RAID technology :) However, what I...

Netgear ReadyNAS Duo vs QNAP TS-219P

Hello everyone I'm currently in the market for a NAS. I'm looking for a 2 drives bay. There are plenty of options so I thought I might ask what the people think. Here's what I'm looking for: RAID 1 Possibility to use only 1 drive and then put a second drive later to enable RAID 1...
