This sounds like a great suggestion! My idea would be to have this as an additional option in the DHCP section: when you assign a fixed IP to a device, to have the option to allow access to and/or from the device from other networks (VLANs).

I'm in the same boat: love the Merlin firmware but would be very interested in the new VLAN features. However, at this point, we don't even have a definite answer if there will be Merlin 3006 firmware for the GT-AX6000, let alone a timeline for its release...

Same problem here (on GT-AX6000 with Merlin 3004.388.8_2), couldn't change the password because the old password was not accepted, although it worked for logging in. It did work through the Asus Router Android app (but that one had another problem).
