Enableing TAP rather than TUN help

Well things that I thought would be easy are not. I may just give up on the project. Thanks.

Enableing TAP rather than TUN help

Thank you for your response. I have done some reading and found that openvpn2 did or does support it but openvpn3 does not. So you are most likely confirming this. It was removed. The claim is there are workarounds or you dont need it?? There is some complex discussions regarding this here...

Enableing TAP rather than TUN help

So I have tested it and your right! the openvpn client does not support tap. I set the Asus router to TAP, exported the opvn file and when I try to import into client it says its not supported. Good enough for them to tell me. I'm no expert on these things. But its odd to me that the server...

Enableing TAP rather than TUN help

Have successfully used my Asus RT-AC66U B1 to access my network via OpenVPN. This comes through the ISP's router then to the Asus router. Works great. I use TUN. I can access computers, use remote desktop etc. Ok so it does not work perfectly in one case. I use a program called EZVIS to search...

Is there Free layer 7 Network tracking software ??

PS I assume Layer 7 is right ? Or is it layer 3. I dont know I took this in school long ago. You memorize it for a test and them forget the details.

Is there Free layer 7 Network tracking software ??

I'm interested, (really just for the fun of it) to look at all the traffic coming and going from my network. There use to be a software that I could install on windows (years ago) that you could have your router record to so it would track all of the connections etc. (as I recall). Something...

how to run cron and other scripts on startup?

Yes seems odd that it would not be included in Asus firmware. DDWRT can do it also. I guess I wanted to walk before running. With the difficulty I had, it seems like running before walking at this point. Thanks.

how to run cron and other scripts on startup?

I did try to set this up but could not do it. I have forgotten all of the details but the message on the router says. The wireless router currently uses a private WAN IP address. This router may be in the multiple-NAT environment and DDNS service cannot work in this environment. I even reached...

how to run cron and other scripts on startup?

I have successfully got my script up and running. Big thanks you ColinTaylor, who appears to be part of the furniture, who was patient with my ASUS novice-ness who helped me keeping the script running after a boot of the router. I should state that this runs on the ASUS factory installed default...

how to run cron and other scripts on startup?

Ahh the memories. All of my large USB keys are being used for stuff right now. And I can't go to the store because they are all closed, everything is online or door service. Indeed these 16mb or 8 mb or other mb sizes where made and were a godsend. You may recall back in the day, we only had...

how to run cron and other scripts on startup?

Your right. I did look up the command for syntax and could not find it described in the old link, but still followed it slavishly. Your new command works, thanks.. sort of. Now I'm getting another error. dd if=/dev/zero of=/tmp/mnt/MYFLASH/myswap.swp bs=1k count=262144 dd: writing...
